I would love to have a storm or two where I am, I love them... all we have are freezing cold grey days, still feels like winter. Back home, near Windsor Ontario, a friend of mine said the flooding got so bad the other day a small car was floating down the road, and there has been sooo much damage from flooded homes. |
I live near Windsor (about 20 minutes away) and it really got bad in the town of Leamington (also about 20 minutes away). It's been raining on and off for about a week now and they say more is supposed to come on the weekend - hope everyone else is having dry weather! Where is back home for you Willowsprite? |
Back home for me is Leamington
I miss it so much.... where I live now sucks... cost of living high, quality of living low, I miss the people, all my friends, the sun, the sand, the water, and the breeze |
Hi all,
We're up here in Gurnee, Il. We are the town thats been on the news so much lately because of all of the flooding. Thankfully we are all safe and dry, but are expecting more rain today. Our river crested 11.6 feet above flood stage. Pirate, my 5 mos old, has been totally unaware of the storm. But when we go walking, he finds EVERY puddle and runs through it (just like a kid!) But Molly, my 8 yo JRT is still off her stride from the storms last week. Hopefully we will just have rain and not have anymore thunder for awhile. Intradan, you're lucky Drake is a protector and a brave soul! Give him a hug for me. |
Well today we finally have some sunshine and the charge in the atmosphere is no longer there. Drake is back to his ole playful self getting into trouble whenever he can. This morning he was playing snatch and run with my daughters stuffed animals and tug a war with his leash. Thankfully he is no longer being my sticky sheepie, I have came close to fallen over Drake about a dozen times in the last few days because he has been underfoot.
Drake also loves the puddles and to chase the water as it goes down stream. We played out in the rain last night after the storms passed and had a great time. Has anyone else noticed how nice rainwater makes an oes coat look. Drakes fur is really soft and full after playing in the rain. Willowsprite I love a good storm but these have been a little much. On the otherside of ST. Louis they got about a foot of hail, the parking lots looked like they were cover with snow. I was lucky all my area got was some trees knocked down and was without power for about 4 hours and my flower beds are a mess from all the rain and wind. Looks as if more storms will be heading this way this weekend Hope all stay safe and dry |
Yes I have noticed the lovely effect the rain water has had on Pirate's coat. When he dries and I brush him, he is incredibly soft and fluffy . I wish I could get the rain to run down his chin. It's looking a little a bit gross these days (too much sticking it in the water bowl, I think) . Have a great weekend! |
