I will keep an eye on it, and if it persists take her to the vet. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it might be? |

Could it be an old area that she chewed and you didn't notice? Perhaps it's healing now? |
I don't know that she could reach it with her mouth...it is really right in the back....maybe she is a better contortionist when I am not there |
Seriously, she could just be licking herself. ICK! Annie used to do this ALL the time. It was so gross and the hair was brown in this one spot. One time they REALLY must have squeezed her anal glands hard as Annie hasn't licked now for almost a year. It's a miracle! Maybe have Izzie's anal glands checkout. |
How big is the area? It sounds similar to what Barney has right now, which I also don't know what it is! I'm thinking his might be allergies--apparently this year allergies have been pretty bad... |
The hair is thin in quite a large area, but the scaly/flaky skin is maybe the size of a quarter.
It amazes me...for all the time we spend worrying and caring for them...they just seem so carefree all the time Izzie is probably thinking..."geez mom...stop staring at and fidgeting with my butt" |
ha ha. That reminded me of last night. Barney walked by and I thought I saw something unusual on his butt, so I got down on my hands and knees and followed him around looking at his butt (but he kept turning to look at me so I couldn't get a good look, so I had to keep following him!). |
