also I still have to pay full price and pay 1/2 of the entrance fees for the different events. Does this sound normal to you. Wondering in PA |

Seems a bit unfair, full price for the pup and you are up for half the entrance fees for the trials!!!
A lot of co-owned dogs are sold at a reduced price due to the breeder wanting part ownership on them for breeding, showing or trialling. If a breeder wants to do that then a pup should be sold at a reduced price. It is only fair. Also if you are not interested in earth trialling then it should be the breeder paying all the expenses there if they want a trial the pup. Does not sound very fair and reasonable in my opinion. If you are going ahead with a pup have a contract made up with the breeder with all your wishes included too and if any disputes down the track, it is all down in black and white. Insist on a reduction in price and insist on the breeder paying all the expenses with the earth trial if you are not interested in doing that. Make sure also that full ownership is forthcoming in the future when the dog is finished with the earth trials. |
Are those titles really important to you or do you just want a puppy? Is there a reason why you want this dog specifically? It doesn't sound like a really fair deal and you might be better off finding another breeder where you could own the dog outright and not have to worry about all the red tape. |
Does not sound very fair and reasonable in my opinion. |
