YAHOOOO! SHEBA IS GOING TO RESCUE!! |
Yay! Which rescue?
Details, Details! |
Sheba is now in Animal Rescue Kleberg in Texas. She will be transported to a foster for the OESC Rescue in Houston, TX.
She will still be available for adoption through the OESC Rescue Houston. I was up last night trying to figure out travel plans to have her come here to MN. and this morning the good news came that she found rescue closer to her! She is sure to make someone very happy! Good with kids and dogs! A happy, sweet girl. Anyone interested in Sweet Sheba, please call ARK @ 361-516-1456 * Does anyone know anything about Electra on PetFinder.Com ?? * |
Is it really dumb of me to ask what "Kleberg" stands for? |
I didn't dare ask, Ron! I thought it was one of those things that was obvious to everyone but me!! |
Kleberg is the county they are in. No hidden meanings. |
Do you recall the full name of the shelter? I saw 3 OES puppies listed for adoption about 18 months ago, when i contacted the rescue (near Houston) I was told the adoption fee was $900.00 per dog. |

I realize this is an old thread which got revived, but I am curious, why would an owner-surrender make a dog more likely to be put down? Wouldn't it being an owner-surrender give the dog a more reliable history and if it was a well-behaved and trained dog, I'd think this would make it a better prospect for adoption vs. a feral stray or something? |
I do not know about there, but locally, owner surrenders - the shelters know the animal has nobody in the world that cares, so to make room in an already too crowded "system" . . . BUT a stray has an unknown history, so someone may be out in the world looking for their long lost pet, the animal may be wild due to circumstances but would settle down if a familiar and loved face could be found. I spoke to one shelter that gets 500 animals a month, and is able to adopt about out 50 |
