I'm new here and I'm very happy to find this forum. As you can tell from my name, I am Shaggy's Mom, who is not only my first sheepie, but my first dog as well. Shaggy is almost 2 years old and we live in New Jersey. I have already found out a lot about sheepdogs by reading the posts and look forward to learning more. Thanks and nice to find you guys! |

Hi! Welcome! Have you had Shaggy since he was a pup? Do you have any help for some of the other posters who are having trouble with housbreaking? Can you share your experiences? Glad you're here.

Thanks for the welcome! I have had Shaggy since he was 8 weeks old. I really can't offer too much advice about housebreaking because Shaggy was soo easy. I didn't crate him, and when he was young I took him out every 1-2 hours. I'm lucky because i have flex hours at work so when he was young someone was always home with him. I did paper train him so that if he did go in the house it would be on the paper. I used something I bought at the pet store but I forgot the name of them. They were some kind of puppy pads made for training. But like I said, I really don't know too much about housebreaking, I just got lucky. |
I am investigating getting another OES. I had one several years ago. Our other one was an outside dog but we would like for the next one to be inside. How does Shaggy do in the house in the winter w/all that hair? |
