I guess the furbabies could stay with my parents for the week... We can't stay off grounds, because we won't have transportation while there (taking a tour bus with the AFB). I don't even know if they'd be allowed on the bus even if a hotel would take them. |

I did a quick search and this is what I found. Thanks Amanda. I kinda figured they wouldn't be. Guess they'll have to stay with their 'grandparents' for the week. |
I was just there in feb of this year. All of orlando seemed to be pet friendly. I can't think of the name of where we stayed but they allowed dogs.
When we went to Sea World, they even have places for your dogs to stay while you are in the park. If we ever go again, we might take our babies with us. |
I beleive they do have on property boarding, but I don't want to even think about how expensive it would be!!!! I don't recall ever seeing any puppers on disney grounds when we were there for our honeymoon, so they're probably not allowed...
Have a great time down there. It was so, so much fun when we went. And definitely stay on disney property if you can... I have yet to find a hotel in greater Orlando that is as nice, or that treats you as well as the Disney hotels! We stayed at shades of Green for our honeymoon (Military only) and it was FABULOUS! As was our stay at the Carribean Resort when I was a teen. |
I think if your parents will take care of him then you should do that. Disney parks usually are all day/night affairs. I don't think he'll like being stuck in a strange hotel room all day. Go on vacation & enjoy yourself!

My parents will take him with no problem. I'm very fortunate with that.
Thanks Karen. We're excited. The boys have already started collecting spare money (ahem...taking money out of my purse and Jason's wallet - lol) for their savings jar. We're going with the air force base, so I think we'll probably stay at the military lodging. I think they worked it out where we can get a group rate there, if I'm remembering right. The last time we went to Disney World, we stayed at a hotel off the resort, and it was a hassle and took a lot of time getting to/from Disney. Jason was attending a school for work so they arranged his hotel, and the boys and I went with him (paid vacation). Disney also happened to be running the Salute to Soliders that year, so all 4 of us got in for $99 (the kids were free though) and that was 7 day park-hopper tickets. It was a great deal...too bad they stopped doing it. They were both really too young to remember it or Disneyland when we went there except for pictures, so I'm excited to take them next year. I think they'll be at the perfect ages for it (4 1/2 and Jake will turn 6 while we're there). They are both going to be mesmerized by seeing all their favorite characters in person. |
Oh Gail,
If you can stay at Shades of Green DO SO! It is one of the finest hotels I've ever had the pleasure of being at... the grounds are lovely, the rooms cozy, the staff delightful. They 2 or 3 pools, several restaurants, and a golf course across the road. I can't praise it highly enough... Oh, and did I mention it is also incredibally affordable??? Have a WONDERFUL time! |

You'll be in my area! We're only a couple hours from Orlando! If you go to Sea World the coolest thing I saw there was their 'dog show' where they had TONS of rescued pets trained to put on a short production for an audience - it was FANTASTIC - all rescue animals completely loving their lives! |
Also the Loew's Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Studios is dog friendly.
And you can come visit us in Ocala and meet my OES and any fosters that I might have.... Marie www.dixieoesrescue.org |
Okay, so our small all-inclusive trip has become a big deal. It now includes 9 adults - us, my parents, Jason's parents, my brother, Jason's brother and sister-in-law. Then, our two kids. Eek. It'll be a fun, memorable trip with the entire family though. We're looking at a condo or house to rent while we're there. I guess Jasper will have to stay at the kennel for the first time. |
