I saw that there are blades in which you can buy in all different sizes. And then there are snap on combs sets that you can buy in all different sizes. So what do you need? I am used to when i cut my husbands hair there is the blade on the clippers and you just put the different sized combs for the lengths you want in the hair. So is this a whole different thing like comparing apples to oranges? What do you all do out there? Change different blades when grooming the dog or just use the snap on attachments. And if you do use the snap on attachments are you supposed to have a certain size blade you use under it? Oh this is so confusing. I guess once i get this figured out then i only have to chose from TEN THOUSAND DIFFERENT MODELS! Why cant I just have two choices. That would make it soooooo much easier!! |

The snap on combs (they snap on over the blade) allow you to leave more hair, even the "longest" blade cuts to just over a half inch. If you decide you want to leave more than 1/2 inch use a comb but make certain the blade underneath is a higher number like a 30. Snap on combs don't work for me if I try to put a low number comb underneath.
Actually I do better with scissor cutting "hairy" breeds to longer lengths instead of using a comb. I get all tangled up in the undercoat with combs. |
