rescuing a pregnant kitty

I know this is an oes forum, lol, but I just had to tell someone!
I don't know what possesed me to do this, but I was bored one night, and browsing the net, and checked out petfinder, actually, because of a link in here somewhere... so I looked at it, and decided to look at the kitties. Well, stupid me, I saw a picture of a cat that needed a home, Mindy, and fell in love with her. She is a maine coon cross, who looks so much like a cat I had many years ago, who I lost to cancer, a vaccination site sarcoma. I couldn't help it, I emailed an inquiry. The shelter she is at is actually an animal control for strays, not really a shelter, and they have limited space and a lot of cats right now, so they replied right away. As it turns out Mindy is pregnant, and they desperately want her out of there, as they have no room for kittens and so many to find homes for already. So guess what? Tomorrow morning I'm making the trip to go pick her up. :) I talked to a bunch of the people I work with, ( a large office with about 300 employees) and many are willing to give a kitten a home, so I think Mindy's babies will be well taken care of. She looks healthy, and the people at the shelter say she is a very clean and affectionate girl. I'm so excited, it's been so long since I've raised a litter of kittens. I used to raise siamese and I loved it, and but I stopped simply because there are just too many cats without homes.
I'll be getting Mindy spayed after the kittens are gone, but I'm really looking forward to having them! Mindy looks and sounds like a sweetheart, I just hope she's okay with Dancer. I'm setting up one of the bedrooms to give Mindy a quiet place to be so she doesn't get stressed too much. She can acclimate to the house more after she has her babies and has settled in. I also hope the drive won't upset her too much, it will be about an hour and I'm going to have to bring the kids with me because my husband is working.... anyway, time to go bath the puppy, Dancer unfortunately peed in her crate today while I was at work, so she is a smelly girl at the moment...

Wow!
She strikes again!

Willowsprite,

You are awesome taking in this kitty into your home and while Mama may not be overly pleased with Dancer her babies will know what it's like to cuddle with a furball.

Just a word of warning however...those kitties will look soooooo cute it will be hard to give them up! You are doing a fantastic thing by taking in this homeless kitty and providing a safe place for her to raise her babies. I'm thrilled that you decided to do this and congrats on your new family.

>>Hands over angel wings to Willowsprite
