Hello from NYC area

Hi All,
Joined the forum about two weeks ago. My husband and I are the proud parents of two OES, Oscar and Dudley. They are litter brothers, born 7/30/03, but were adopted by us from two different families. Oscar arrived at our house in Oct. 2004 and Dudley in Dec. 2004. Both had food aggression, dominance and guarding issues, which have gotten much better as they have lived with us. Both dogs were returned to the breeder because of these issues. Dudley's previous owner was going to put him down if the breeder didn't take him back. Having made such progress with Oscar in just two months, we decided to take a chance with Dudley. We have never regretted either decision to adopt them, even though Dudley was an unrully, untrained monster when he arrived. Dudley and Oscar also have three other four legged companions, Bonkers, a top show Himalayan cat, Nutty a rescue Abyssinian cat and Mr. Fluff a Belgium longhair rabbit, rescued from a family whose house had burned down. Notice the two themes runing here, resuce and longhair!! Have found the info on this site really great and look forward to getting excellent advice when we need it!

Welcome! I can't wait to see pictures!
Hello, nice to meet the whole family!!
Hi! I'm new around here, too. I also have littermates, Sophie and Sherman, from the breeder. They are 4 1/2 months old and little terrors. Sweet terrors, though. Also have Archie, also an OES, who is 7, and who has been really good about accepting new puppies.

Wonderful that you were able to take two brothers, and make such good progress with them. It sounds like you have quite a houseful of kids!
Welcome to the forum! And by the way, did you pick up on the fact that we LOVE pictures???
Welcome to your whole family and greetings from Australia, yes we love pictures and look forward to seeing all the fur kids.
Welcome to the forum. I think it is fantastic that you have 2 rescued sheepies. I have 3 rescued sheepies with some similar problems. If you have any questions ask away. The people on this forum are wonderful about sharing their experiences.

And oh by the way, did you get the idea that we really like pictures of the furbabies so we can all oohhhh and ahhhhh over them?

Welcome once again from Louisiana.
Yeah for NYC!!!! Maybe Pooh can come and play!
Hi All,
Just want to say "thank you" for all of the very warm welcomes. I will post pictures over the weekend. My job has been quite crazy for the last week (I am a regional manager for an international airline), so I have been getting home late and have had no time for anything, but the basics. Feeding my husband (he does really like to eat!), then our "zoo" and then an hours worth of grooming kind of kills the evening! Promise I will get the pictures up and again "thanks" for the welcomes.

P.S Pooh can definitely come play!! We have a large fenced in yard.
Welcome to the forum!!

So glad you've joined us. Your crew sounds like lots of Fun!! Congrats on rescuing!!
Welcome!
Welcome too, from MN. We have a new 4 month old puppy named Chewie. This group is wonderful!
Welcome to the forum from Norway!
Welcome to the forum - I am a big long hair fan too - have 2 Jersey Wooly rabbits (angora fur) and one giant german angora rabbit along with my new oes. Good for you for rescuing so much. I volunteer in a humane society and people always shy away from the buns/dogs that have long hair. I wish I could take them all, but have my hands full! They are really worth the extra work and there is such a thing as haircuts. I find that the short hair breeds of rabbits and dogs SHED a TON more than a OES or a German Angora. very strange (but good).
