So today Walter and I were hanging out in the front yard, he was sitting on the porch unleashed and I was laying in the grass. We have a very slow street and I can see cars/people coming so it's easy to grab him before he gets any ideas. But today he somehow saw a squirrel through his fur covered face and ran after it. He ran a little into the neighbors yard and into the street. I yelled for him to sit, and he looked at me and took off again. He was running around looking for the squirrel in the yard next to us as I was trying to look mean/firm while yelling SIT. He stopped to sniff where the squirrel was and I walked up to him and yelled "Walter Sit!" And wouldn't you know it he not only sat, but he layed down and rolled onto his back while I told him how naughty he was.
While I was mad at him for running away Walter NEVER rolls on his back for me especially not outside, and that made me feel really good and for once like I was in charge !  |
