If you do learn anything about it or if you give it a try please let me know what you think, I am seriously thinking of switching Dancer to that food also.
Been feeding my boy the Nutro Ultra "Weight Management" for about a week now and he really likes it. I switched from Canidae Platinum since it was time for something else. Canidae is about $5 cheaper, but some say a higher quality ingredient list than Nutro products. My opinion is that they are both very good foods and switching every now and then is good.
I feed mine Nutro Natural Choice Ultra. I recently switched from Euakanuba for many reasons. Just a couple -- Nutro has NO bi-products. Eukanuba is made by IAMS and IAMS does in-lab animal testing, including, but not limited to, de-barking their dogs, etc, etc ... 8O

Both dogs LOVE it! My foster girl hasn't had any problems with it or her stools, however, Maggy's stools are a bit loose on it. I think it's Maggy's tummy and not the Nutro. We made a gradual (over 2 week switch) but she's always been a little tummy sensitive ... I may have to look into mixing her Nutro with some Old Mother Hubbard or something similar or trying a BARF diet ...
I have always fed my dogs Nutro Lamb & rice for large breed puppies, then regular Nutro lamb and rice when they get older, and I have had very good luck, makes their coat real soft, small poops  .
Anyone fed there babies this?any good luck or bad?
I don't tend to like any of the lamb and rice formulations, any dog I have tried it with it has made them rather gassy ....ewwww....
Thanks for the replies!!! Huggs and Rico seem to be doing fine on ultra, even our neighbors dog sneeks in the house sometimes and heads in a bee line for the dog food, scarfs down as much as she can and heads back outside! (hey i let my kids have friends over, why not huggs and rico...LOL) anyways, they love Nutro Ultra!!

We just recently switched Jack and Annabelle to Nutro large breed puppy. I have read a lot of things on Iams and thought that Nutro sounded healthier. We were probably just over reacting as usual, but the things that the people at the dog show were telling us about nutro made sense. The dogs seem to enjoying it so far. Stormi and co.
Nutro Ultra has a very undesirable ingredient which is a synthetic vitamin K that effects your dogs immune system as well as other things. I switched from Nutro to Canidae because it is one of the few foods that do not contain this ingredient. I found a wonderful website called the dog food project that is a must read.

Here is a blip from the website about the syn vit K:
Menadione Sodium Bisulfate
Vitamin K3, synthetic vitamin K.

Feed grade. Also listed as Menadione Dimethyl-Pyrimidinol Bisulfate, Menadione Dimethyl-Pyrimidinol Bisulfite, Menadione Sodium Bisulfate Complex, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite and Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex.

Unnecessary ingredient in dog food. This synthetic version of vitamin K has not been specifically approved for long term use, such as in pet food. It has been linked to many serious health issues.

Please check it out.
My sister recommended Nutro Natural Choice for our new puppy. She feeds it to her 3 dogs with no problem. Once we started the gradual switch to Natural Choice, the puppy's stools became loose and bloody. We didnot think it could be the food, so we went to the vet. The vet suggested we switch foods, so we did and the diahrrea cleared up. We didn't really think the food was the culprit, so after 3 weeks, we started back on the Nutro and within 1 day of eating 20% nutro, he started having diahrrea and bloody stools again. I don't know if there is something in the food he is allergic to or what - but after finding the following link about problems with Nutro - we will not be going back. We had a bag of Science Diet and he loves that - mostly corn, but we'll try something more natural after it all clears up.
