I love the look of akitas, but their personalities don't do much for me. The akitas you see at shows are usually on their best behavior though and I haven't seen any display dog agression, but I have known pet akitas that most certainly do. |

My nephews dogs are not nice to any other dogs. As long as they are in the Show Ring they are behaved. One those chokers come off they are just down right mean. His female attacked both Harley & Pepsi. 
Probably because she was in heat. But the male was also very territorial when he visited our house. He went after Rags & Pepsi. Also their butts gross me out!! 
I do think it's very nice what he is doing....but the breed is definitely not one of my favorites. |
