Here's the note: Hi We got a call from Chris at 1:30 AM. He is at a hospital in Baghadad in the green zone. He was hit by some shrapnel from a motar attack. There was confusion over where he was hit. He told us as he was running to the bunkers he must have been holding his hip. When he got to the bunker he wiped the sweat off his face and they thought he was hit in the face because of all the blood he had wiped on his face.He was hit in the hip and they have not taken the shrapnel out for fear they would do nerve damage. They are going to give it a month to see how he heals. They also are concerned about getting an infection given the condition over there. He will go back to his unit when he is released. Again thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Bill And Wanda I know there are several members here on the forum who DO have loved ones in this situation. Just wanted all of you to know how much I admire your strength and courage and hope everyone comes home safely. |

I agree with everything you said Nita. It is easy to forget these things, unless its your heart carrying the burden of fear and worry. Then, thats all you think about.
It's a fine thing you did in paying tribute to them. God bless all! Praying for their safety, and a speedy return home! Pam |
Oh no.. I hope he has a nice recovery and is given the time needed to heal!
My brother-in-law works as a nurse (captain in army) in Iraq (the person who gives you epidurals and stuff). His blog makes me cry sometimes because of the things he sees come in or the little girls he see that die (they have to treat iraqis too). Found out the other day that Mr. J will have to return earlier than expected. I spent the entire night crying. I'm hoping the date will change again or they won't go at all. |
I hope he has a fast recovery.
Joahaeyo - sorry your husband has to go back. I hope they put off the time so he can stay home longer. |
