| Hi! I am also getting a puppy from a breeder in MO! Her namee is Nancy, and she is located near St. Louis. Where is yours? Nancy's puppies are supposed to be born this week. I haven't heard anything yet, and am on needles!! Check my email every hour or so. Don't want to keep emailing her, she'll think I am a psycho! I have been sending her emails every couple of days as is. I am just so excited and can't wait! We have to travel all the way from NYC! Yeeeeehaaaaa I am gonna burst from anticipation! |

| What a small world!!! Nancy sounds great! I found her on puppyfind.com. I spoke to her on the phone and she asked all the right questions. I am sure she is very busy with the arrival of the new litter, but I am thinking of calling her in a day or so if I don't hear from her soon. I am so excited!!! Its amazing that we couldn't find anyone closer to homebase. I hope all works out for the both of us! Are you looking to get a boy or a girl? How far are you on the picking list??? We already have a name picked out!!! Mopsey! Who knows if it will stick, though. Depends on her personallity. We are gonna fly (maybe drive) down on June 5th to pick out our girl! | We are in Brooklyn, NY. Steve's (hubby) parents live in Ft. Lauderdale. I guess you have as far a shlep as we do to get your new baby! I was really amazed at the fact that we could not find a breeder with puppies (or puppies to come) closer to home. Both, my husband and I are teachers, so we were looking to getting a pup in the end of June so that we would have the summer to train and be with her. So, Nancy came thru great! How did you find her??? Was it through puppyfind.com? |
Congats on your new puppies! While you are here in St. Louis make sure you take time out to see the sights Just a little word of caution, any time you mention you are getting your puppies from MO. people think the worst. DO NOT let them take the joy and excitement away from your much awaited arrival and all will work out great. Do your research and get as much info from the breeder as you can. I have read a little about Nancy and she really seems on the up and up. I got Drake from a breeder in downstate Mo that many people have questions about but I had nothing but good experiences with her and Drake so far has been a great puppy. BUSTN don't give up I was 12 on a list for 9 pups 5 female and 4 male. with the way things worked out i got the last female (Bella comes home this Saturday) as some families chose to wait till the next litter this fall. (different mother though  ) Hope it all works out

Will most definatly keep all posted and will post pictures as soon as I have any! Everyone is soooo terrrrific and helpful on this forum! I love all the pictures and stories! Its really a pleasure knowing everyone! |

Marley, Missouri Breeders aren't frowned upon. It's just that there has been discussion that there are alot of Puppy Mills in Missouri. But...I think you can find Puppy Mills everywhere. I'm sure there are plenty of reputable breeders in Missouri as well. Kristen |

| Hello everyone!!! Just spoke to Nancy and so far Roxie had 4 girls and 2 boys!! She said that she still has a tummy full of babies! She expects at least 5 more! WOW! She also mentioned that it takes as long as an hour per puppy, so Roxie can be in labor for 12 hours! Too bad there is no doggy anestesia! She is doing great and the puppies look wonderful! |

| Hello everyone! Roxie has had 11 puppies!!! 9 girls and 2 boys! Nancy was lauphing and saying that its like I ordered this litter (we wanted a girl). The puppies are healthy and ADORABLE! As soon as I get the photo i will post it! |

| Well it looks like I made a mistake, Roxie had 8 girls and 3 boys. We are driving down to pick a puppy on the memorial day weekend. We will be there Friday (28th) evening. How about you. Thanks for the advice on the wesite. I will try it now. Did you get pictures of the pups? |
I would love to hear what all of you think about the appropriate age of picking out a puppy. All the literature I read so far states that one should not pick until the pups are at least 6-8 weeks old for their personalities are not fully developed. We are the 4th on the picking list and my breeder kinda is preassuring me to pick out our puppy at about 3-4 weeks old. I am feeling a little uncomfortable with that, but she does have a point: there are 6 families waiting to pick out theirs after us. Would love to hear what you think. At the end I think all will work out, but i wanted to use the puppy personality test mentioned on another chat (and which my friend the vet recommented), yet it states that it should be done on a pup of at least 6-8 weeks of age. What to do? What to do? Sigh.  |
