Happy Birthday Laika!
She is doing fantastic! She heels nicely (thanks Ceasar Millan!) Her stays are getting longer! Last night she caught a frisbee!!! Now if she can just stop chasing her cat buddies!

| Heeling... well I started out with food in my hand on the left side. Then progressed from that to reforcing when she does it right by saying "good girl". When she started to get ahead again give a little tug on her collar (just a normal collar) or just stopping and making her sit. Plus lots of walks. Most morning and every evening. Plus never letting her get away with it just being consistant. The only thing is that she goes to daycare every day and her daycare mom uses a retractable leash and lets her out in front. I have mentioned to her how I did it but I cannot force the issue ( the lady only charges $6 a day!) plus she does well for me so it isn't so bad. |
