stripes in cut........

Just finished ANOTHER hair cut on Dexter - - - I think this is the 3rd one this summer - he just seems soooo dang hot - plus I don't want to cut my hair so hubby says I play beauty shop on Dexter....... :P

but here's my question - using my Oster Golden #5 with a #10 blade and a 1/4 comb there are what I can only describe as stripes in the fur....... very evenly spaced as in line with the comb..........

I've tried running the clipper the other directions (vertical or horizontal) but that doesn't seem to eliminate the fur stripes - - any recommendations???
thanks,
T

I had stripes when I was shaving Maggie too. I thought it be because I wasn't applying even pressure or had gone over an area more than another area. Changing directions seemed to help and I also used my free hand to sort muss up the fur a bit (sort of like using a comb) so that I could see where the longer bits were.

Have you tried shaving without the comb attachment? Or maybe try a skip tooth blade to rough it up a bit and mask the cutting lines. . .
I never use the comb attachments, I just shave them right down, no fuss no muss, and in a month they have about an inch of fur and look like they've had the perfect puppy cut. LOL
It's faster too.
