I'm clueless! Thanks for your help! |

Are you doing it in the evening? I'd say (unless your mom likes them) to stay away from games. They always seem forced to me.
Maybe have some photos of your mom or some old family albums scattered around so people can use those as conversation starters and memory-joggers. |
Favors are nice if you could find a picture of the family to put in something (keychain, cheap frame, etc).
Other than that, I would think good company would be enough entertainment. If you could get ahold of a slideshow and put some pictures up or ask a few people to make a toast.. that might be nice |
Hmm...could you maybe do a theme around their teenage/young adult years maybe? Things from the 50s (is that the right timeframe?), like music, decorations, etc.. to make them have a blast from the past and fun things to talk about? That might would be fun for them. |
Pin the tail on the Donkey? |
I actually really love playing games, and find that its really fun with my friends after a few drinks. Theres a game called Apples to Apples that is really fun that might be a good idea. Maybe you can bring it or another game and suggest it and see the responses? |

LMAO! Yea, I think I'll pass on games. I will have scrapbooks to pass and everyone is old enough that they can talk amongst themselves. |
First find several pictures.....older the better.....and have them blown up into near poster size and mount. Set these around the room.
Or how about some of the Maxine birthday cards.......do you know these? Perhaps some of these could be blown up into larger size (legal issues?) for the group to enjoy. These nicely fit an 60+ birthday bash. You could also have a "theme" birthday......Hawaiian style for example where people could dress in Hawaiian type shirts or dresses, have palms trees and Tiki torches around.....and serve drinks with umbrellas on the top. 60 isn't the same as 65. A few senior type gags is fine, but don't over play the being old. Save that for 10 years. |

LOL Its a new day and age, my Dad's aunt was still playing cards (and winning) once a week at the casino at age 100. Her only regret was that she couldn't drive and had to ask her son to take her. She passed away a few years ago. She was quite a character and we miss her alot! PS- When they had the 100th birthday celebration- she was upset it ended early as she still wanted to party. |
That's what I mean..........60 ain't OLD!!
Sounds like your Great Aunt was quite the character! Seems if you can get past a certain age......you just seem to go on and on. I don't know that magic age....is it 80?? I've got friends you'd think are in their late 60's or early 70's and they are actually 83 or older! Energizer Bunnies each and every one. Spend some time in one of the Sun Cities around the country and see what the old folks are up to........(BTW, it is or was one of the fastest places for STDs growth!) Viagraville. susan |
