Of course I said I would, and I brought Daisy and Ollie back home and returned to help her out. (She had a 9 wk old Great Pyranees purebred puppy that was a neglect surrender that I would have taken in a second if I hadn't just adopted Ollie.) Anyway, I spent the afternoon there w/ her - (the Pyranees got adopted as well as another one). The people she generally relies on to help her out and foster dogs were unavailable for a couple of weeks, and she was really desperate. At the end of the day, I ended up bringing home 3 -11 wk old german shepherd mix pups to foster for the week. I know my lease does not allow for me to have 5 dogs here, but how can you say no - this woman does so much w/ so little and cannot have the pups at her house because of a parvo incident there and did not have anywhere else to take these pups for the week. Actually, she rescued the 3 mothers (mostly german shepherd sisters) and 22 pups from under a trailer and all were badly infested w/ fleas and ticks and has 6 of the 22 left to adopt. One of the other pups is in another foster home but the woman is leaving on vacation on Fri, so that pup will be coming here on Fri to be returned on Sat when she has the dogs at Petco again for adoption. Anyway, Bless all of you that run rescue centers to take in all of these beautiful animals. Just wish they would all find loving homes and that their rescue services were no longer necessary. |

That's really great that you helped out like that.
I wanna see puppy pics!!! |
Not a sucker, but a kind hearted person! Bless you for helping and doing more even with potential consequences for yourself. We need more people like you. Hope you have as smooth of a week as possible and the cuddle of the puppies will help when you're doing all of the hardwork that puppies demand. |
Yup, puppy pics required even if they are only visiting!
Thank you for helping out!! |
Awww you are an Angel, just lovely. Yep Puppy pics too would be nice |
Hi,
I'm so happy to read a story like this and how you stepped up to the plate and offered help. The world is a much better place with people like you in it!! Hip hip hooooray to you! Marianne and the boys |
I thank you all for all of your kind words, but I am not the one deserving of any praise - I only did one small thing. Yes, I know that helps which is why I am doing it. However -----
Those that do rescue 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year deserve all of our thanks. What they do is phenominal. SO THANK YOU. YOU ARE ALL SUCH SPECIAL PEOPLE AND THE WORLD COULD USE MORE OF YOU - if we are to clone people, let's clone these people. |
What a fantastic, selfless thing to do! Bless your heart! And yes, if you can find the time after running after all the dogs all day, we would love pictures!! |
How exciting!! They are lucky you are helping them!!! Temporary or Perm, you are doing a wonderful thing!!! |
I wish you luck with the puppies. I hope they are quiet... That lease thing is scarey! Brad and I have been thinking about saving this kitten but we know we are soooo pushing it with having 3 animals already.
You are very kind hearted. I hope the puppies get forever homes. |
You are NOT a sucker. I think that was a genuine thing you did. You are a caring selfless human being, and you are helping a helpless animal. This woman needed help and you didn't shun her, like most people, sadly do.
Even though this woman you are helping is an absolute angel for helping animals, you are helping too. you know...to me, that makes you no different... You put forth rescue efforts that most people most likely wouldn't. WAY TO GO!! I applaud you! (claps) Michelina~ |
