Barking

Does anyone have a problem with barking??? My Morgan barks and barks, if anyone of the kids runs or plays. If me and my hubby are joking around. Basically if anyone is up and playing around. It is really high pitched and annoying! Even if I am laying on the bed with my baby hugging, she barks. UGGH

How old is your dog? I know London is 13 weeks old now and she barks alot when she is wanting to play.

I know my older dogs only bark when someone pulls up in the driveway or they hear the gate open and close.
MAYBE HE'S BORED. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE A KONG FILLED WITH STUFFING WORKED WOUNDERS FOR oLIVE. I WOULD PUT IT IN THE FREEZER SO THE FILLING DID NOT GET ON MY CARPET AND ALSO SO IT WAS HARD SO IT TOOK HER A LONG TIME TO GET IT ALL OUT. I MEAN HOURS SHE WOULD SIT AND RELAX WITH IT.
Foz is about 5 1/2 months and he has a high pitched PLAY NOW bark. He typically uses it when Annie is being pet by one of us. He barks at her! Poor Annie :(
Bunker barks constantly, I'm either going to get a bark collar or hire the Bark Busters.
Oh yes, my Violet (3 1/2 Yrs old) is a barker. Yes, the bark can be ear splitting. She barks when she sees other dogs or people walking down the street. Other times she pays them no attention. We have a privacy fence around our backyard, and there are two dogs that live behind us, besides Violet and my Aussie Shephard China. Violet will step out the Florida Room and will give one bark, like announcing to the other dogs that she is coming out. She then runs up to the privacy fence and peeks through the slats. It is very funny to watch her. Sometimes she will bark more other times she doesn't. It is like all the dogs in the neighborhood are talking to each other. Sometimes Violet barks in a certain way and China stays far away from her. The two dogs are very interesting. Every morning when I put out the food for Violet, China and our cat Pearl, Violet runs and barks at each one of them like she is telling them "hurry up breakfast is ready." Not exactly what you want to hear in the morning. I did take some advise I had read on this web site regarding putting coins or stones in a container and rataling them when the dog barks to stop her from barking. The trick works for China, but not for Violet, oh well. They really aren't that bad and I consider their bark a form of Security Alarm. Would you aproach a house with dogs that sound like that, not me. Violet also insist on coming to the door with me whenever someone rings the bell or knocks, my private security guard. Anyway, I am still working on her barking, but I feel it is just her way of talking to us.

I tried the coins in the tin can thing and all she wanted to do was bite it. I also got the barking collar, the one that sprays the stinky spray, that didnt work either. Dont want to get the shock collar. It cant just be bordem because my kids play with her all the time. I think it could be a type of protection thing, like if my husband tickles the kids she goes crazy. I just dont know what to do but it is real fustrating.

Who are the Bark Busters?
Do they come and train your dog not to bark?
Please elaborate!!!!!!!! ~
A spray bottle might work. Fill a small spray bottle with water and when your dog barks inappropriately, just give him/her a quick squirt. It startles them a bit and distracts them from the barking. That's what we're using with our puppies--just started using that technique and it's helping.
I have tried the water bottle thing too! I spray her and she tried to drink the water as it comes out. As soon as you stop the spray we are right back to barking. I know she is just doing it to get envolved in the fun but it is sooooo high pitched.
