Momo is having fun exploring and looking around the new apartment and walking around the neighborhood with Brad. The sound-proofing is amazing! I think all I hear from the people above and to the side of us is water moving down the pipes when someone flushes the toilet. My brother lives in another apartment elsewhere and he can hear the people downstairs walking around and listening to tv. The second night we were at the apartment we brought Momo and the kitties with us. Fun story: The next morning I hear this screaming from one of my cats. He was making the "my leg just go cut off" or "I'm being eatten alive by ants" noise. I run out the door and find that they are both perfect. Halifax came running out of the bathroom (the one making the noise) and Kiley looked at me expectatly. I chalked it up as them being afraid of their new surroundings/ they were hungry. I fed them and they seemed fine so I went back to bed. I hear "the scream" again and it's once again Halifax. I walk into the bathroom and he's looking at his reflection making the weirdest noises in all of creation. (Seriously - his voice is usually so soothing and melodic - even when he's mad - today it sounded aweful)! He continues to scream until I put him down - then he just jumps back up on the counter and starts screaming again. I closed the door and left our door open - and he bounced into bed with us and rolled all over Brad's face while he slept! Kiley believes that now he is in this new place - that it has somehow inhanced his kitty-powers and he can fly! He's tried running up a vertical wall for the first time in a year. He's such a goober. Momo is currently "freaking out" too - she is getting used to being walked in this very crowded place and there is so much to see and do... My husband has to walk her now because she's about to rip my arm out of it's socket just trying to stiff stuff. She isn't even this bad in petsmart! We're having a lot of fun putting things together though. I'm really happy to be FINALLY living with my husband. It's been great. |

I'm glad you're enjoying your new pad! Not even a mention about how terrible the move was, so life must be wonderful.
Enjoy! |
Very exciting about the new place!
The animals will get settled. It takes a bit of time. As for Momo you should get a Halti collar. They are amazing. Rags can literally rip my arm out of the socket on walks with a regular leash and collar.. But not anymore. I feel like I am walking a small dog and she hardly pulls. |
yaay i am SOOO happy for you and if i am honest a little jealous I'm glad that while they are scared f their own reflectios, they seems to be adjusting famously

Yay! Congrats on finally moving in with your hubby |
yeah!! |
I'm not too worried about the pets settling down - they are usually this wild anyway.
Kiley is just being Kiley. He's the cat who thinks that simply by meowing at it that a moth will fly down from the ceiling and land in his mouth. He also believes that everything makes a good stepping stool. He used me as climbing post once so he could jump on the ceiling fan! Meooowch! I was doing my make-up this morning - and then Halifax jumps up in front of my while I'm trying to put my make up on and starts meowing at himself again. I don't know why it's so funny - but it is. I had to kick him out of the bathroom because he was being such a pest. I'm seriously considering the halti - I've BEEN considering the halti because of the way she pulls sometimes. I didn't usually have a problem when I was at my house because we didn't have people hanging around where we lived for her to want to look at. Also - there wasn't as many dogs out there as they are here. Brad and I can be a bit at odds sometimes with where we want stuff - he'll move something somewhere and I just gawk in awe as to why the heck he thinks that would be the best place for something like that... He put a box of cereal and a bag of chips in the silverware drawer. I moved them of course and began moving other things around the house that he "messed up." I aranged the furniture around because he had my couch at a weird angle - I couldn't watch the tv comfortably. I made it to where both the papasan and the couch pointed at the tv nicely. Brad laughed this moring when he saw it and wondered how I could do all that stuff in just a few minutes. I had to tell him "Sweetie! It's just wicker furniture! It's nothing to move!" Moving in has been a neat process. I have a feeling that I'm eventually going to get everything organized though. |
Congrats on your new place! Much happiness to you, Brad and the "family"! |
I remember when Joe and I merged our two households that included one sheepie puppy and one old lady pekignese. After 11 years now, when I move the furniture or ask him to help me move it, he just says "Yes dear!" Ah the joys of training a newbie husband. |
Much happiness in your new place |
Brad's been so good to me recently. My back has been acting up and he told me not to worry too much about the heavier stuff - he'll get it. Which is great because even the lighter stuff is messing me up right now. My hips feel like old lady hips and sometimes it's hard to walk because of it.
We've actually been moving out on our own for the most part. I think one time one of Brad's family took one load (pretty small) and my mother went on the other. She and I could help a lot because it was the light wicker furniture. We've made countless trips so far - we have a tiny car and we've only been able to borrow mom's car twice. It's ok though - we're getting there. I guess it'll give us a little practice for when we really move away... mwa ha ha... |
How exciting about your first place. Take lots of pictures because in a few years it will be a lot of fun to look back on. Especially the ones with the Sheepie in them. |
