Dreams DO come true!
Monday morning, it was raining here. So I looked at my friend Toni and said, "nah, it's icky. I'm going back to bed". Which i did for an hour. Then we got up, and it wasn't raining but still icky looking. I told her i was going to go walk the girls......... Delilah and Carmela had different ideas, and jumped in the car into their crates and said "LETS GO MOM". So, in I go and tell Toni ....... so OFF we go to the show. Okay, Delilah goes Winners Bitch which I expected (I had the only 2). But then went on to Best of Breed over the special!! Toni and I look at each other and don't say a word. We just say "okay, gotta get her groomed up for Groups now. (I'm thinking, okay, possibly a couple of more points..... oh boy). Group comes along and GROUP 1 ! Woo Hoo this is pretty neat. We just look at each other, don't say anything else again......... "We gotta go do her up again"....... All the dogs are in for Best In Show........ Delilah showed her big little heart out. She reminded me so much of her grandfather Higgins...... I have always loved this dog since I first saw him. The judge watched all go around but didn't give here that last look as she did the other dogs. She came to the table and marked her book with steadfast determination. She went back to the middle of the ring with the hugest rosette I have ever seen, a plaque a certificate and a gigantic wooden chest filled with maple products like you wouldn't believe. And then she said without a doubt her pick was "THE OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG"..... I could not say a word. I was speechless and tears came to my eyes (I get leaky eyes when I am happy). This was the BEST way to finish her Canadian Championship I could ever in my wildest dreams have ever thought possible. I have both my breeder Joy Kelley to thank and Toni Lett to thank for helping finish her championship title. Toni also bred Dee's father and grandfather and grandmother. | Yesterday I was knocking around either Sheepie, here or my own files?? and found the picture of little D snuggled against a pillow.....how nice it would be to put that picture with one of this big girl champion........you know, it might be in the cookbook now that I think about it! Do you still have that picture?? One of Norm putting "a puppy to bed" is also there.

However, I have made a great new friend up here and we have "switched" dogs for a while! (NO NOT DELILAH!!!!)...... this is going to be something new and neat for the 2 of us to do, and I am looking forward to it! | Well, I am home. It took us 3 days coming home. We made it the first night to Michigan City MI and the hotel was struck by lightening at 230 in the morning! Both girls JUMPED in bed with me, and all the car alarms went off......... we didn't get much sleep last night.
Last night I stayed in Omaha NB. I went to dinner with Jan, SOPHIE's new mom! (Remember we were looking for a home for her?!) Soph I am proud to say is doing FANTASTIC!! She loves her new home and mom and dad, and THEY love her back! I want to THANK everyone in Canada for the FANTASTIC hospitality they have! I love Milton and Campbellville..... I did nothing but EAT the whole trip.......so I now have pounds to pack off....... The last night of the shows we went to an italian rest. in Milton on Main St. I had pheasant.... this is the way we ate the whole 2 weeks...... I'm still stuffed! Stacy it was good to see you and I am sorry i only got a short glimpse of Panda. How is she doing???? Now for the other news. Stacy introduced me to Amber and Amber and I (with Toni's help and encouragement) decided on a SWAP........ so, I brought home MORGAN... Amber's new CN CH. and she kept Carmela! (I think I got the better end of the deal.....) Morgan is a sweetie and we are all go;ing to go to bed now as we are worn out!! As soon as I get the pictures up I will let you know. Ali |

I know Amber misses Morgan like crazy already, and talkative Carmela is doing just fine LOL I hear her talk to Amber over the phone, it's hilarious! What a character
Panda is doing great, happy to be playing with Sky, but I think she misses Morgan too.... we've been loading this dogs food with everything under the sun to make sure she eats. LOL |
