I really don't think so. I think they are warm and perspirating (out their nose) |
There noses are always warm and wet or cold and wet...depending on what kind of weather they are in.
I've always heard if their nose is dry then they are sick. |
I've always heard that the reason they are cold and wet is that they lick them. The erason that they "get warm" when a dog is ill is that they stop licking them. BUT there's not always a connection between the two, sometimes they just haven't licked them in a while.
I say if it's not normal for your dog to have a warm adn dry nose, and it goes on for a couple of days or you see some other symptom(s) that bother you, give your vet a ring. |
I've noticed with mine when they have a warm, dry nose they tend to not be feeling well, usually something minor that resolves itself. |
Well, the reason I asked is that Monty has had some diarrhea for the past couple of days and his nose has been warm and dry; he is doing much better now though....I have to wonder if he had a bug? Don't you wish you could just read their minds? lol.... |
The nose tip/end, the part with the holes does not have to be moist to indicate good health, but is should NOT be dried, creacked or coated with mucus or dried dischage.
The area above and behind can be prone to drying and cracking.......and sunburn. Be careful least skin cancer gets started there. Look in his mouth, are the soft tissues the proper color? Purple or dark red would indicate lack of oxygen, yellow is jaundice. Also note how your vet will press against the area above the teeth.....this is to check circulation and heart....press for about 6-8 seconds and watch to see how quickly the white spot refills. It should refill within a second or two. Anyway, sorry your pup is having tummy and butt problems. |
