Dear Mr and Mrs E. Sometimes the greatest single act of love is the most difficult - for Mighty Sassy it was time. There is nothing anyone can say or do that will lift the shadow from your hearts - only time can do so - I know from personal experience. But tonight yes tonight Grand Sassy will be young & strong once more. Sassy will enter the ancient nation of the dog - the Pack. Sassy will run with the hounds and swim with the retrievers - Peace Search the heavens for that new star - listen to the wind for that familiar voice - alas, we are mere humans. |

I'm so sorry for your loss |
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm glad you're finally feeling a little better to be able to post about your dalmation Sassy.
What a beautiful letter for your vet to write, he seems like a special person!. I offer you my warmest thoughts and a big {{{hug}}}. Give an extra rub to Abby for me. |
What a wonderful letter - it brought tears to my eyes. These are hard times but it helps to remember the precious moments. |
Having gone through this only yesterday with our Maggie McGee IV I can truly relate to what you are feeling now. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry The letter from the vet is very touching. |
I'm so sorry, having recently been through this I know the void that's left behind. Even when it's the only thing left to do it's still the most difficult. |
Hello everyone,
Tonight I stumbled upon the most amazing website... www.oes.org I do have to say I am bawling like a baby right now after reading the touching stories about the loss of your OES. My SamSun is 2 yrs. old and the thought of ever losing him (and I know one day that day will come) my heart breaks into a million tiny little pieces. He is my life and I don't think I could ever love another dog as much as I love him. My prayers are with everyone who has had a loss. |
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Sassy...be brave. She is at peace now. |
Sorry for your loss. The letter from your vet is lovely. It's nice for him to take the time to actually show you that he not only cares for your pets, but for you as well. |

Hi,
The vet's letter was beautiful and how heart felt it was. He was right..you did the most unselfish act of love by letting Sassy go. It doesn't take away the pain and grief know but she is, like the letter stated running with the Retrievers and probably romping around with others at the Rainbow Bridge. I'm so sorry for your loss and I understand that writing about Sassy is one of the final things you can do for her and also a difficult thing. Hugs to you. Marianne |
I'm so sorry for your loss. What a kind vet to write such a touching letter. (((HUGS))) |
What a beautiful letter from your Vet! So touching and comforting.
I am so sorry for your loss. |
Thank you all for your comforting words it really means alot. Abby loved all the extra huggs too. She has been lost without her buddy. |
I'm sorry for your loss of Sassy. Please give Abby lots of HUGS from us! What a wonderful vet you have to have such care for you. Feel Better. |
So sorry to hear of your loss. Keep the memories alive in your heart. |
I'm sorry for your loss. When a friend passes on our lives are so empty for awhile. While the void shrinks with time, a hole remains. Fill that void with loving memories, not thoughts of your dear dog's final days.

Mr and Mrs E -
I think that letter that your vet sent you was an incredible gift. To know that between him and the folks on here, so many of us have been through this sad time, and can relate. Here is a poem that I was given when I lost my sheepie Merlin the Magnificent. I hope in some small way it will help you to rejoice in the memories of your Sassy and celebrate all the joys only a sheepie like her can bring to our hearts. "Weep not, nor think of me with tears. But smile and laugh as if I were beside you. I loved you so. 'Twas Heaven here with you." Your Sassy will stay in your heart and mind until time and times are done. My deepest sympathies, Guinevere's Dad, Kevin Z. |
