Maggie McGee IV
Maggie has been in declining health for some time, battling arthritis, Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome, seizures and a stroke among other age related problems. She stopped eating several days ago and her body is just not strong enough to go on. She would have been 14 yrs. old on August 22nd. We "rescued" Maggie at 2-1/2 yrs. of age from a family that was moving into a smaller home. She was always loved and cared for, never knew the feeling of being in a shelter and was never even kenneled when we went on vacations. If she couldn't go with us, she had a favorite dogsitter. She was well-traveled, having gone with us on trips to Washington DC, New York, Cape Cod, Myrtle Beach and Atlanta. Obviously, she loved to ride in the car and when her vision was better, loved to bark at cows and the large round hay bales in the farm fields here in the Midwest. I could go on and on about what a sweet girl Maggie is but everyone who has a sheepie already knows how precious their OES are. I hope you will all give them a hug and let them know how special they are. We'll miss you, Maggie, rest peacefully. Nita and little brother "Nelson, Jr." |

| Thank you all for your kind words and support during this difficult time. All my Forum friends have been a great comfort through this via phone calls, PM's, e-mails, thoughts and prayers. I don't know what I would do without all of you.
We took Maggie for her last car ride today. She passed peacefully with the help of Dr. Martin. The staff at the vet clinic were very caring and compassionate, which really helped us get through it. We brought Maggie home and buried her in the back yard next to our Mr. Winston. It's a nice quiet place under a big fir tree where she used to chase rabbits and squirrels.
