Gretchen was found in January on a busy highway in Tampa and was thought to be a senior. It turns out she is probably closer to 6 and had been neglected or a long time and had a thyroid problem. She is now doing very well -- its amazing how love, good food and tiny little pills can be so helpful) and has been renamed Eleanor. Ceasar (found wandering in Pensacola) as young mix OES? Beardie? Terrier? who know a really cute nice dog with gorgeous blue eyes (renamed Mickey Blue Eyes) has been adopted and renamed Edison. They were fostered together and got along well. She got a loving Mom to nurture her and he got a energetic Dad to play ball with! Both dogs went together to the same wonderful home in Port St. Lucie, FL! How is that for RESCUE DUST? Since this was such a special adoption I invited some special people to attend -- some of Gretchen's other foster parents, Mickey's other foster parents (Emily and Ian), Edy (OES breeder and president of OESCCF -- our Central Florida OES club) and her business partner Betty (from Holland) and even OCALA STYLE MAGAZINE came! (they have been doing a continuing story on OES in Ocala) They all came, many pictures were taken and a few happy tears were shed. What a wonderful day for OES rescue in Ocala, FL! Marie |

Woo hoo! What a great day!
I hope lots of pictures were taken! oes.org has room for them! Congrats, Marie, and THANK YOU for all the hard (and successful!!) work you do for our Sheepers! |
Congratulations Marie. What a great day! Is there a way for us that don't live in FL to get a copy of the magazine or newspaper when the article comes out? Or could you scan it and post it so we could read it?
Congratulations again!!!! |
Hi Marie,
What a wonderful story!! Great ending and I am so glad to hear this one had a happy ending. I was expecially fond of Gretchen and really hoped she would find a forever home. I also saw Mickey Blue eyes and glad to see Miss Gretchen now has herself a much younger beau!! Marianne and the boys |

Marianne and the boys That's so cute! They'll be so happy together! |
That's great! |
That is so wonderful Marie!
I was also amazed with Gretchen's wonderful transformation. I am sure she is happy to be with Mickey Blue Eyes since she knows him. It will probably make the transition easier for both of them. YAY!!! I love happy endings!!! |
Awesome news!!! |
That is wonderful news, Marie!

What great adoption news! You deserve a big brag for that one - way to go! |
What wonderful people to take both Eleanor and Mickey Blue Eyes. Isn't Eleanor a great name for a sheepie? I hope the new parents join us at the forum. |
WONDERFUL NEWS! |
That's wonderful news! Thanks for sharing. |
That's so fabulous!! What a happy ending! |
Congrats! I hope all goes well! Share photos! |
I'm happy for them, I hope they both live long and wonderful lives. And a BIG thanks to Marie, Emily, and Ian |
WooHoo! Mickey Blue Eyes so reminded me of Harry, my avatar right sider. Same wonderful coat that doesn't mat. Glad he has a sweetie to look after. People sound like us......when we were faced with selecting one orphan sister or the other, we couldn't break them up either.....and that's how we got into rescue, LOL. So maybe there are some rescue helpers there too????
Congratulations on the double adoption. |
Another happy ending to such a sad beginning. Marie, you have a wonderful rescue down there in Florida. With the help of people like Emily and Ian, you have really made a difference for lots of sheepies. Keep up the good work! (and let me know some of your rescue "secrets" for us up north)

We love happy endings! Best wishes to all. |
Congratulations to all involved! Best wishes to the new parents. Hugs to Mickey & Gretchen. |
