I'm just wondering if anyone has travelling plans, or good ideas to keep kids busy without it costing a fortune etc? We usually spend a lot of the summer by the pool, or go mountain biking through the trails, and the occasional day trip to a bseball game, water park, zoo etc. My kids are at an age where they are too old for little kid stuff, but too young to completely amuse themselves too. LOL I was thinking of letting the try paintball... but I am not so sure this is a great idea for my boys I have other plans to travel for dog shows, but mostly it will be back and forth for each day. I'm hoping to attend one show near the Michigan border in late August, and probably a show near the New York border in late July..... So what are your plans? Any big trips for anyone? |

WOW! the kids here have been out of school almost a month now. I don't know what we are doing all summer. Hopefully not what we have been doing which is basically nothing. I signed them up for the summer reading program at the library and occasionally go to story time there. Have been looking for summer camps but there is none that I can find. |
just a word of warning........paintballs hurt!!! lol |
All the kids where we live are in summer camps now which I know can cost a lot, but VBC (Vacation Bible Study) doesn't!!! Tons of kids that don't go to church go because their friends are there. They mostly do arts&crafts all day, and it's usually all ages. |
Trying to make a flat spot under our deck to put the swimming pool, we have a sloping yard and decided to rip the storage area apart and open it up. Not sure if the sun will get to it enough tho, we might have to buy a filter/heater for the water.
Otherwise it will be alot of camping..1 solid week, and then on a weekend to closer lakes. Then the local parks...we just enjoy, and not plan more than we need to. That way noone is dissappointed, and we can be flexible. |
I am really looking forward to Ryan leaving for NJ tomorrow!
That is itself will be enough of a Vacation for all of us. We are looking into investment property in New Mexico, so we will probably take a trip out there soon. |
