It was a good 7 games, and a joy to watch these two teams battle it out. Now to cheer for our Football team...Go Esks Go |

It is nice, considering the Carolinas have never had a professional team win the "whole enchilada".
Still, a little sad since there aren't that many hockey fans here. I think the whole city of Edmonton would've appreciated it more. |

You're right, we would have appreciated it more. The boys played good, they've made the city proud. To come back after being the last place in the West, they did Fantastic. |
Was there any rioting after the game in either city? |
A few arrests here in Edmonton last night, not nearly as many as Saturday tho. They had over 250 people in Jail by 12:30 Saturday night. Bunch of A&$'%. |
This city is very much into it's sports, hockey more than anything.
Even tho the game was played in Carolina, the collesium here was sold out...people pay $5 for charity to watch the game on the big jumbo trons. The kids in my daughter's grade one class, all made paper Oiler flags and had a parade through the school yesterday chanting Let's Go Oilers Let's Go. The kids also get tatoos with the Oiler symbol to wear for game days. Cars and trucks all over the city have flags on them to show support. It's been so much a community feeling coming from a big city. Except for the jerks to cause trouble by getting drunk and getting arrested...it's been a fun place to be. |
