There's a place called Dependable Auto Shippers that ships cars for eBay users all the time and all over the country. Here is their web site. You can even get a quote on line...

http://www.dasautoshippers.com/ Thanks!!! $843.00 Not too bad!! |
Perhaps you could contact BYU and see if they can post a note on their bulletin board for a student who needs transportation cross country?
Kinda risky, but pretty cheap. Probably. Or maybe Craig's List? Even riskier. |

Hope everything is okay Gin, Thoughts are with you guys on your way there and back! |
My Older Daughter and Son are in Utah. Along with a slew of relatives. Wanna PM me and maybe we can work something out. It would be nice to see a familiar face....since we are just above NY state here in the great north...lol. |
Ginny, how scary! I hope your daughter is okay. I'll keep your family in my prayers. |
Ginny, I hope your daughter is ok!
I was quoted between 750 and 900 when I looked into it myself a few years back. That was for the car to be on a car carrier. From NY to CA So I am sure there are quite a few companies that go from West to East. |
Ginny, I hope she's okay!
I would have only suggested the student drive across country, but if there's no students there, then I don't know |
$843.00 is a rockin' good price! Just check on their time of delivery. Some of them can take forever to get to you while they zig zag back and forth across the country.
Hope everything is okay at your place. Let us know if you need anything else. |
Ginny, cars used to be transported east/west on trains, don't know if they do it though. I'll see if I can find out. I hope your daughter is okay and it's nothing too serious. |
Thanks everybody, we are going to use the shipper that Ken recommended, they are the best priced. It will only take the car 3-4 weeks to arrive but that is ok, it's not important how long. I was suprised at the disparity is price everything from $900.00 to 2500 and they all took about the same time wise.
My daughter is going to be fine, she isn't out of Utah yet but she is safe. She found herself in a abusive relationship and was smart enough to get out!!! I am quite proud of her. She didn't want to leave her job without talking to her boss who was out of town yesterday. My hope is that he will understand and she will be home this weekend. |
Ginny sorry about your daughter, thank goodness she does have the brains to move on, how often do you hear that they stay and the worse happens. Wishing your daughter all the happiness and joy with the start of better things to come in her future. you should be a proud mom, you raised a good, intelligent girl |
Hope all goes well for your daughter, she's very smart to move on. As an employer I find it admirable that she waited to talk to her boss and not just leave. |
Bravo!! to your daughter!!
Thank God she was able to recognize the situation for what it is and get herself out safely. It is indeed very admirable that she feels responsible to her employer and wanted to speak to him before leaving. You did good, Mom. I know you'll feel much better when she's "home" with you!! |
Tasker's Mom wrote: I have an unexpected emergency with my daughter and need to bring her home from Utah to NY TODAY, she is not returning. . I am flying her home. The problem is she has a car in Utah and I need to get it transported fron Salt Lake City Utah to ANYWHERE within a days drive of upstate NY.

If you're in a rush, be prepared to pay a little extra. The lowest quote will leave you stuck and your car will be picked up last or not at all. Basically you're actually bidding through the broker for the truck drivers to pick up your vehicle against 20 other vehicles and the higher price wins. This is what the honest people at crowley auto transport let me know. They priced my car to move from CA to FL. Was right in the middle and got me moved next day. |
Good for her!!!! |
I used Dependable Auto Shippers to bring a car from California to Michigan. I was very satisfied with the service. |
there is a website called www.uship.com. You tell them what yo have where it is and where it is going. If anyone is traveling between those points they will offer to haul it for a fee. some will be less expensive if they can drive the car. others have a place on their trailer they try to fill for a FULL load. it is usually fairly reasonable if times etc are flexible.
Otherwise as one of the other posters said Dependable has been shipping cars for along time good luck |
Old post, guys, from 2006! |
