People, print this out and have it handy. Hang it on the refridgerator, put it in your travel bags, keep a copy in your car. When the need arises you need to have it ready and available and 9 times out of 10 you will not be near a computer and won't remember the address if you are.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!!! |
Thanks! I was just speaking with my stepmom aboutt his on Sat night. |
Thank so much! I keep one on the refrigerator but it's not as detailed as this one (this one has better pictures). Printing it now to replace it!

Hi everyone,
I'm glad it's helpful. Would appreciate if the moderators would consider making it a Sticky. Thanks! Zahra |
The red cross actually has an animal first aid and cpr class you can take and get certified in. Its pretty good. |
Hi Great Post Zahra!!
A local vet used to offer certification in pet first aid which I took once. Helps big time regarding how to assess if something is considered a wound that needs further treatment or not. The CPR is good to know too for all pet owners. Marianne and the boys |
Thanks Zahra! You may have just saved a life A sticky is a great idea. |
Great Post! That is some info worth having. This should be a definite "sticky" for all OES (and all pet owners). |
The hand out is really well put together... I think all vets should keep this in their offices and hand out to people, but I don't think I've ever seen it in the vets office? |
This is great - I've sent this to many of my friends.
On another note, I love OES4ever's sign off - very endearing, made my cry |
I tried to click on the link to show a fellow dog lover the site. I can't get the site to come up anymore! I tried it at home and at work. Can anyone else ?? |
Their website's domain name expired on 10/26/2006, and they haven't renewed it yet...So I called them and they said they are aware of it. |
HI
I have it (Animal CPR) saved in my documents Got sheep...would you like for me to send it to you? Diane...a grrrreat post Zahra |
Please send it to me... |

Thank you! I'll get it to her tonight at work . |
I actually had to use Mouth to Nose to save my Mini Schnauzer two years ago. After 9 breaths, he was back. Thank God..... |
Interesting. My kennel club is sponsoring a seminar on canine CPR/first aid next month. I decided to go, not just because I want to support the cause but because for once I would like to be prepared beforehand in case I would ever need to use this on anybody's dog! |
Here is another update for animal CPR http://www.drjustinelee.com/blog/genera ... f-survival |
Thanks, Zahra! |
I'm glad you're going Marilyn to get your Doggie CPR. I became certified in that as well as people CPR as you never know if you'll have to use it. I had to chuckle as instead of "Annie" dolls which were used for people CPR classes...we had (forgot the name) but they were Golden Retriever type Annie dolls. Good luck with your course! |
