Woman Attacked Dog Breeder With Dead Chihuahua, Cops Say Thursday, June 08, 2006 ST. PETERS, Missouri — A woman angry that her new puppy had died pushed her way into a dog breeder's home and repeatedly hit her on the head with the dead Chihuahua, authorities said. The 33-year-old woman told police she had taken the puppy to a veterinarian, who said it was only 4 weeks old and needed to be returned to its mother. But before she could return the puppy, it died. Early Wednesday, the woman went to the breeder's home, pushed her way inside and began fighting with the breeder as she tried to make her way to the basement to get another puppy, police said. The breeder wrestled the woman out of her house to the front porch, where the woman then hit the breeder over the head numerous times with the dead puppy, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported, citing police. As she drove away, the woman waved the dead puppy out of the car's sunroof and yelled threats at the breeder, police said. She later called the breeder and threatened her and her family, according to court records. Police said they are considering felony burglary charges against woman and misdemeanor assault charges. |

wow.......people are sick and weird |
Hopefully the police are also considering charges against the breeder. I would consider letting a 4 week old puppy leave the mother abuse and animal endangerment. |
Yikes! How bizarre! |
Okay, that made me laugh. Out loud. During a phone conference.
I have to wonder why she took the dead puppy with her when she left the breeder's house. |
Sounds like a case for JUDGE JUDY |
I find it hard to believe, I'd sure love to cross examine the breeder and her family separately. Know how small a 4-week old Chihuahua must be? How could one hit someone "over the head" with it? How could you wave it out the sunroof?
Why would she want another puppy right then, if her 4-week old puppy had just died? Isn't it much more likely that she wanted her money back, and her vet bills and/or another puppy that would actually survive? I gots a feeling that there's more to the story, like the irate customer's side of things. Perhaps the breeder thinks a good defense is a good offense. Had to be Missouri, too. |
answers the age old question of what chihuahua's are good for |
Sick..... and as Ron said, probably somewhat exaggerated.... |
I want to hear the rest of the story too. If it is all true that is horrible, I'd be irrate too, and that breeder should be charged with something as well. Have they made a stupidity law yet? |

Have they made a stupidity law yet? If that was a jailable offense we certainly will need more jails built! |
If you guys think this is weird you should read some of the stuff that comes across the law enforcement network. Nothing really shocks me anymore. People are weird. |
That's Crazy!! |
INSANE! |
I'm sorry, I can't stop laughing. |
Quote: Wentzville woman found guilty of assault with dead Chihuahua By Valerie Schremp Hahn ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH 09/06/2006 A Wentzville woman could get up to 18 months in jail and a $1,500 fine for hitting another woman over the head with a dead Chihuahua puppy. Lisa Hopfer, 34, was found guilty of third-degree assault and trespassing, both misdemeanors, at a trial at the St. Charles County Courthouse this afternoon. She is expected to be sentenced Sept. 25. The trial, heard by Associate Judge Terry Cundiff, featured X-rays of the dead dog, a detective’s pictures of the dead dog, and testimony from the woman who was smacked over the head repeatedly by the dead dog. "She’s somebody I never want to be in the presence of again," the victim, Linda Hulsey, said shakily afterwards. Hulsey, 33, now lives in Alabama. Advertisement The assault happened at Hulsey’s home in St. Peters on June 7, a few days after Hopfer bought the puppy from her. Hopfer said after she bought the dog, which she named Chloe, she brought it to a veterinarian, who said it was only four weeks old and needed to be returned to its mother. But sometime during the night, the dog died. Hulsey testified the dog was six weeks old. She said early that morning, somebody rang her doorbell repeatedly. She opened the door to Hopfer, who reportedly said, "Look what you did!" Hopfer hit her in the head with a bag, which contained the dead dog, Hulsey said. Husley said Hopfer pushed her into a wall and the two scuffled in the foyer and down the steps of the split-level home. Hopfer yelled and took the dog out of the bag and rubbed it in Husley’s face and hit her with it, Hulsey said. They tussled their way outside. "All I could do was sit when I got outside and put my head down," Hulsey said. Hopfer then grabbed Hulsey’s hair, pulled her head up with it, and hit her in the head at least 30 times with the dog, Hulsey said. A neighbor, Patricia Finley, testified she looked out her window and saw Hulsey sitting on the porch and somebody swinging something at her. She said Hopfer yelled, "Look what she gave me! Look what she gave me! A dead dog!’" Hopfer, who did not have an attorney, testified she never hit Hulsey with the dog. She did admit yelling at her and waving the dog out her sunroof window as she drove away. But, she said, "I did not hit her with the dog. I have physical evidence that there is nothing wrong with the dog." Hopfer held up X-rays of the dog and said she had signed statements from two veterinarians saying that the dog didn’t appear to have broken bones. Cundiff said that Hopfer could not admit the x-rays and letters because she had to lay a foundation for them and provide witnesses to talk about them. He had already told her she had to do that, he said. After the trial, Hopfer hurriedly walked out of the courtroom and denied Cundiff ever told her that. "I can’t believe he didn’t admit my stuff," she said. "I had proof." As she waited for the elevator, she showed off a picture on her cell phone of Kallie, her new — alive and healthy — Chiuhuahua. "She’s doing great," she said proudly. |
Don't understand the appeal of a Chihuahua. Don't understand not being able to tell the difference between a puppy that is old enough to leave it's mother and one who isn't.
I do understand the impulse to hit the breeder over the head. Repeatedly. I wouldn't have used a dead Chihuahua, though. |
So picture this..........
Women goes to jail. As she is sitting in "the yard" another fellow con siddles up to her and says (in a raspy voice), "Whatcha in for". Women answeres, assault with a dead dog. |
I think a better headline would've been "Chihuahua Attacks Woman with Dead Breeder." |
