Happy birthday Jakob!
So, at 7:45 am, my little man will officially be 5. Five years ago, I was in the c-section room getting prepped for surgery. He was stubborn and he got away from the doctor when it was time to come out and went back in, lol He was also squeeze in there so tight that he was born with a bruise on his chin! He was born at 36 weeks and weighed a hefty 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 21" long. He was in NICU for the first few days, then we had to deal with extreme colic (12+ hour a day screamfests) for 9 months, but after that, he has been the best child any mother could ask for. We're going to celebrate today with a cake for the four of us, and then he has a t-ball game tonight. Their first one. I hope they do well. 
I thought I'd share a few pics... Here's my little man with his chunky cheeks. | Thanks everyone. Yep, we had cake today but no ice cream. I forgot about it actually.
We were going to have a Cars party, but the theater doesn't allow kids 3 & under anymore. Well, Brandon is 3 as is several cousins. We decided to cancel that party and have it in Jackson at a place called the Ice Park (www.playatthepark.com). It's a 3 hour drive, but it's also 3 hours closer to the ILs too. Kind of a middle meeting ground for us both. He still gets a cake & ice cream, decorations, game arcade, miniature golf, and then his choice of laser tag, miniature golf, ice skating, and something else... He's already decided laser tag, lol It won't be until the 24th though. Since he couldn't have his Cars party, we got him a Cars cake for today. I think it turned out pretty cute, but Brandon stuck his finger in the icing before I could get a picture of it, lol  Guess he just couldn't wait.

I seem to remeber my sister doing something like that to one of my cakes as a kid... that is a totally adorable cake! Did you see the movie yet? Is it any good??? |

It doesn't come out until tomorrow, so we'll probably take them to the theater in Starkville on Saturday to see it since Starkville will let Brandon in. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOL Ginny. I'll be 38 when he graduates high school (assuming he doesn't get held back in any grades). That seems SO young since 30 is getting close, lol I'm already dreading those days though. Brandon will graduate at 40, so I definitely think I'll be having empty nest sydrome at a young age. Maybe it'll be time to start fostering then, if we're not doing it already (we've been talking about doing it in a few years). I don't want Jake to start kindergarten on August 3rd though. *sniff* Just another month or so of having my little guy with me all day.  I'm not ready for them to grow up on me.
Thanks again for the birthday wishes everyone. He's looking forward to celebrating it this weekend. |
