Marielena is here!
 
She was born Saturday at 13:50, weighted 8.31 pounds, measured 20 inches.... She's a big baby! Danita entered the surgery room for a C-Section and was very anxious, and I was not allowed into the room because of hospital rules. Bleh. Danita said she cried when she saw her and I did too when the doctor took her out of the operating room into the pediatrics wing... We're soo happy! With no further introduction, please say hello to the newest sheepie lover, Marielena! 
Fresh from the oven!!! This is her first picture ever. 
After a few hours, here she is, cuddling in Danita's arms. 
She keeps here eyes wide open for a few hours in the day. When she does, I'm there to show her a toy and talk to her. Awww....

I had asked last week where you were and if Danita had the baby. Congrats to both of you on your beautiful baby girl Marielena! She's perfect. How is Danita feeling? I was a complete mess after my c-section for a very long time. As a matter of fact the scar just stopped bothering me a couple of months ago. I also am interested in how the Sheepies are doing with her. |

I didn't have any trouble after the first two, but after Brandon, the scar itches like crazy sometimes. He'll be 4 in December too...  Other than that, it's fine though, lol |
Yes it does itch... and is still sensitive, like if Hayley is climbing on me and steps on it. Or the dogs  |

Saul, I'm so sorry you didn't get to be in the hospital room when she was born. Both my kids were born by C-section MANY moons ago and my husband was in there for both. But now you get the best part of it all - her!! Enjoy her every moment of every day. You have been blessed! |

Take it easy, after a c-sec you need to start slowly or you will face infection at the incision. You don't want that, trust me been there 2 times. |

I wish I could invite everyone and have a great BBQ to celebrate her birth (Sheepies welcome!) She's a bundle of joy... Cannot get enough of looking at her when she's sleeping and play with her when she's awake. Every time she wakes us up at 3:00 AM because she's hungry all I have to do is look at her face and I know it was worth it. 
Because Danita's still recovering from her surgery and my inlaws are helping out (They think sheepies belong outside and have no business in a baby's home), we've had to keep the interaction with the sheepies to a minimum.  You shoul've seen the eyes on both our families when we asked the vet what about the doggies and he said that as long as they are bathed, brushed and don't sleep in her room, there is no reason for them no to continule living inside. YAAAY!
I give them one of Mariaelena's clothes to sniff and then play with them, hopefully they'll think she's fun to be with later on. Last night when everyone was sleeping I let them in the room to see Danita and the baby, and they were great! They greeted Danita in her bed and then sniffed the crib and ignored Marielena, wich is, to be sincere, what we want at the moment. Once she's older and Danita is better, we'll let them play with her and interact more so they see it's good thing to have a baby sister. |

So glad to hear that you guys are listening to your hearts when it comes to the sheepies and Mariaelena. The furballs will be fine and once your relatives leave and the household is back to order..you'll no doubt have that wonderful quality family time with them all. Our dogs basically ignored the babies until they started to crawl or walk. It seems like they "knew" that the kids were babies and were very gentle with them and me as I recovered from the births. Wishing you sleep filled nights  |
