Bringing 'things' in the house...

Well, Joy brought ANOTHER bird in the house today. What started out as, "How did she catch it?" is becoming a bit annoying, lol We've had her since Mother's day weekend, so about 3 weeks?, and so far, she's killed and brought in a mole and two birds.... Our cats have brought us field mice as "presents" and left them on the doorstep, but never anything else... Is there a way to stop this? I've never had this problem with a dog before.

Sorry Gail, I have no suggestions.
Maybe sit her down and explain to her that she is NOT a cat.
If I can't even get the dogs to retrieve a ball laying in the grass, I don't think they are going to catch anything that can fly.

I am the wrong person to ask.
Take her to the grocery store and show her where real food comes from?
Why don't you put a "bell" on her collar???
That way she won't be able to "catch" anything so easily.... the bell should alert anything that she would be hunting that she is coming??
The bell is a good idea!

What is she a mix of Gail? Does she have terrier in her? Perhaps she's doing what she was bred for?
The bell idea is a good one! We had a heart charm on her collar, but she pulled the heart off, lol I'll try and get the bell on there a little better.

Not really sure what she's a mix of, but she looks very similar to a rat terrier. I think she has a lot of terrier in her.

And...I don't know how in the heck she is catching birds... I don't mind her catching them as much as I do her bringing them inside, lol
My Schipperke-mix did the same thing a few years back. She flushed the bird out and I saw her catch it in mid-flight. She dropped it when I told her to but it was too late... it died in my hands. She is very prey-focused and I have to watch her close. The bell sounds like a good idea and might give the birds a chance.
