ALLERGY PROBLEMS SOLVED!!

My name is Bridget and I rescued Monty back in January. Many of you may remember all the skin problems Monty was plagued with. He had itchy skin and oily hair, scratched and bit his skin constantly. I thought grooming him every two weeks would help him and his coat, which it did, but I found a miracle pill. Honesly, I do not remember if I found it on this site or not, and I want all the members and guests to know that there is something else to try, and it is not terribly expensive either. I stumbled upon http://www.allergicpet.com/ . Click on the product list, scroll down, and click on Skin-eze. It is an all natural supplement. Read about it. Monty took these pills for two days and stopped itching, STOPPED ITCHING 8O !!! His skin rashes and bites cleared up, and he is a normal dog!!! :yay: I love my dog so very much and to see him happy.....is just the best thing in the world :cheer: I admit I was skeptical, who isn't when it comes to the internet, but I read a review from a woman who lives in Pickerington, Ohio, not far from me, and her story is amazing (her dog was having such a hard time, it's hair started falling out!!) Please visit the website and check it out. I plan on writing my own story for their website. Skin-eze also offers sprays and shampoo, but we only tried the pills, and that's what we needed - miracle pills. I just wanted everyone to know, because every now and then I see posts about itchiness and what not, and there are options outside of the vet (I spent way too much money on Monty's skin, nothing from the vet helped him, except Benadryl but that made him sleepy all the time). It was a very difficult time for us, frustrating really. I hope that others can benefit from our experience!!

(If anyone decides to try the shampoo, let me know how it works!!)

That is great news!!! :yay:

It is heartbreaking as a pet owner when you can't figure out how to help your baby. I am so glad you were able to find something that worked.

Amanda
Oh my gosh tell me about it!! And the money saved!! I just hope others can benefit as well.
That is so wonderful that you found something that works.
We never found anything that worked for our GSD. :(
He chewed his feet and body. He passed away in February.
I did find another miracle pill this year called Bacopin, which is an herb.
My Toy Poodle who has been having seizures since he was 1 yr old....now 6 yrs old. It has no side effects and we have been seizure free...except when I forget to give it to him.
YAY for Miracle Cures!! :yay: :cheer:
THAT IS AWESOME NEWS!! WAHOO!!!
I clearly remember Monty's plight. I'm SO glad you found something to help him!! What great news!!
Wow -- awesome!
Cool, I hope it keeps working for you too. It's tough when they're itchy and you can't seem to help so I know this must be a godsend for you.
That's wonderful! I'm so glad you found something to help! :go:
Yay!!
Great News, YAY MONTY. Love the name that was the name of my very first sheepie.

Great job to Bridget, so glad things have settled down for monty.

WELL DONE :yay:
I'm so happy for him :) And thanks for sharing the information, it's nice to know what works for others.
I'm just wondering...did Monty chew on his feet? Since the spring arrived, Poppy has started chewing on her feet non stop.
She never did it in the winter, and we didn't get her until the end of July last year, so she's not old enough to have a history.
I think she's allergic to the grass because she only does it when we're at home. When we're at my parents place on the lake...which has a beach for a backyard...she doesn't do it at all! :?:
Any thoughts?
My German Shepherd did that too. He had allergies.
I would take your dog to the Vet and see what they think it is.

Monty used to lick his paws too, but since those pills he's stopped.....such a happy boy!!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to give it a shot. Poppy has a pretty strong constitution and like you've said...they're not that expensive compared to what you'd pay for meds from the vet. Especially right now with the Canadian dollar doing so well, I'm going to get a really good deal. :)
I'll let you know how it works out.
Thanks so much for posting this. I'm sure that Poppy thanks you too.
:cheer: I hope it works for you too!! Let me know!!
My dad just ordered the pills and gave the first one to Maggie today, so I will let everyone know how she does...
Be sure to check the directions. I thought I was supposed to give Monty one or two pills but it was actually 5-6 pills twice a day. Good Luck!!
How many pills/day are you now giving Monty for maintenance, or are you not at that stage yet?
I was reading that once the dog is stabilized, you can cut back the amount of pills the take per day for their maintenance routine.
Oh your dog is adorable!! Right now I give him two or three twice a day....usually as a treat (he is such a pig!!).
These did not work for Maggie (well, at least she could not stomach them and threw them up).

So, on to look for something new. The vet recommended a new shampoo treatment for her, so we'll see how that goes...
It worked for Poppy. Two days into her treatment and she's stopped licking and chewing!!!! I'm doing a happy dance now.
Only one issue....she's being picky...she picks them out of her food and tosses them on the floor! I have to coat them in peanut butter to get her to eat them.
But it works for us.
THANKS!
I'm so glad to here it!! Yeah, Monty is a pig and eats them right away...I give them to him as a treat after I clean his eyes - he hates that!! I thought they came in two flavors, you might want to look and try another flavor if they have it.

I am so happy for you!!
Skin-eze does have shampoos and sprays on their website, if the pills didn't work.
Hi
I have a boxer, i know this is a forum for english sheepdogs, but while i was looking for a solution for my dogs itching problem I came across this forum. My dog scratched himself till he was raw and bleeding, constantly every other min he would be off in some corner scratching as hard as he could. These problems started for him at about 4 or 5 months, and i had spent at least $1000 in the 7 months after that in vet bills alone (he's a little over a year now). Which temporarily helped the itchiness, but the steroids also left him groggy, and kind of a different dog. Every activity led to scratching; i walk him, he scratches; i pet him, he scratches; i put him in his crate to sleep, he scratches; we play, he scratches. On the steroids he would pee inside even if i had just taken him out. It was clear that I needed a different solution, i came across skin-eze before on the internet, but I was very skeptical about it. But when I googled it I came across this forum, and read about your english sheep dog who stopped scratching, and i read the words "miracle pill," and I was convinced. I just got the pills in last night and Jack took his first dose of 3 tablets a couple hours before bed. A couple hours later i noticed that he wasn't twitching his ears (the place with the most problems) like he used to, and he was playing with his toys, which he kind of stopped doing once the itching got bad (he would play with his toys, but that usually led to scratching). Then i noticed that a lot of the redness in his white spots had disappeared, and the most surprising, he slept through the night without scratching. I did notice a little scratching today, but then again its the first day.
thanks hoffma i think your advice has given me my happy playful dog back
Ill keep posting on how he's doing
Joe
Wonderful news Joe, and welcome!
Welcome Joe - glad to hear your Boxer responded to the pills and is feeling much better! :D We have another member here who is also a Boxer enthusiast. :D
I am absolutely going to order some and give it a try. Tasker has TERRIBLE skin problems because of allergies. We have been spending a FORTUNE on ALLERGY shots for almost 2 years with no improvement (well maybe a slight improvement). From August to Jan he chews his hind quarters raw, till they BLEED!!!!!!!!!! ANY relief would be HEAVEN sent.
That is such great news!! I am so glad that I could help you!! Monty is not even on the pills anymore - his skin is back to normal!! It truly is a great product, and all natural...I wish they could make something like that for humans...

Congratulations!!
and welcome to the forum!!!!
I am thinking about starting my Yorkie Mix Lacey on this.
Her allergies just started bothering her and she has scratched her eyes almost raw.
They gave her an allergy shot and some ointment for her eyes.
I used Tavist D the other night and it stopped her from itching, but I don't like having her on meds if I don't have to. I much prefer the herbal route if possible.
I'd like to know how it works out for anyone/everyone who tries this! If Yuki has another bad year then I may resort to the pill. So far it's just licking the butt, but she's never had it too bad (as far as bleeding or balding goes).
Check out allergicpet.com

The entire website is devoted to allergies in pets, and for different affected areas. A bonus is that the prices are reasonable - allergies solutions are hit and miss most of the time, so you won't be spending a fortune on trying something new.

The vet put Monty on Benadryl - all he did was sleep! Herbal was definately the way to go.
Well, thanks to your great story, I just ordered Skin Eze.

Poor Bailey has been such an itchy boy lately. He has been licking paws, scratching everywhere and just really seems uncomfortable. We have had him to the vet several times and been given benadryl, antibiotics and some fish oil pill. We bathe him with medicated shampoo and cream rinse.

Today it was back with the red spots and he is very itchy. I had to give him some benadryl. At least it helps the itch for a while.

I ordered it and should have it soon. I will certainly leave an update.

Thanks,

Eric
thanks for the site derby has had the runs on and off for months i am trying their meds just ordered !! hope it works
I just want to add a cautionary note.

Homeopathetic, or natural, remedies should be regarded as medications. In fact, they are the original basis for pharmaceuticals. They are not FDA approved or controlled. Please research the manufacturer, the dosages, side effects and interactions.
The biggest downside, IMO, that the amount of active ingredients can vary widely from dose to dose. It would be possible for the response to vary from day to day.

That said, they do and have worked well for many people and pets. Just do your research.
Just a heads up regarding Skin Eze. I didn't have good results which motivated me find out more about what other people were getting from Skin Eze. The vet who created it, Dr. Stan Gorlitsky, initially had his licensed revoked for one year in Ohio, only to later surrender it completely in South Carolina and had to promise never to practice vet medicine again (Google his name). Now he is in the "holistic" animal care business which isn't really regulated.

If you're pet gets relief from the Skin Eze, great. But it would be equally important for me to have some verification that the pills aren't being manufactored in some dark, Chinese backroom. What are the long term side effects? Would he really post that on "his" website which seems to be the only place you can find any information?

Good Luck,

Greg
Wow... 8O Thank you for the information.
It's also a wakeup call to all of us to make sure we know who makes the products we give our dogs and if there are any possible negative effects to a medication or supplement. Especially with all the recall stuff going on.

I had always been mainstream-medical when it came to veterinary care. BUT... after over 2 years of allergy shots and loads of antihistamines, recommendations of steroids which were turned down, we saw no improvement in my girl's seasonal allergies. This is the 3rd consecutive season. We repeated a $275 RAST test with our regular vet and the results came back last week that she still has allergies to molds and dust mites but was now also allergic to cats. We haven't had a cat in the house for over 8 years and in no way does this explain why the allergies start in August and end when it freezes. I've read that RAST testing often has false positives  . Now we're supposed to go down to MSU for intradermal skin testing.

When the mainstream medical approach fails, we sometimes have to look outside the box so we thought we'd give the local holistic vet a try while we waited for the RAST test results to come in (it took WEEKS). We had seen him once before for a consult on nutrition. He had graduated from Michigan State University's veterinary school years ago (at the top of his class) so he's a DVM but takes an holistic approach.

It's WAY to early to tell but we've seen some benefits. It could simply be the weather offering her relief... but that usually doesn't happen until it freezes and we haven't had a freeze. Only time will tell what happens. I may write again in a couple of days to say she's back to being bad. But I'll take any relief this sheepie-girl can get and count it as a blessing.

I should clarify that he did NOT prescribe this supplement.

This is what we've been doing with meds from both the regular vet and the holistic vet... http://oesusa.com/DarbysAllergyMeds.htm
i know this is an old post.. i have had derby on skin eze for 6 months he was down to one pill; well i though i would take him off 3 weeks later his entire day is spent itching and scratching driving me nuts i am not sure why, no fleas nothing i can see the fall weather all of a sudden go cold 50's . so i think i need to put him back on those pills.. i can't take him back to the vet .. he has had so much trama there with his surgery etc. would like to just let him be a dog!!
BEWARE! Dr. Stan Gorlitsky has lost his veterinary license in 2 states. He is the manufacturer of Skin-Eze and many other products. Protect your pet and be certain before you buy. Check him out on google and read all the articles. If you haven't had enough, then check him out under Stanley Gorlitsky. You'll never buy again.
for those whose dogs spit pills out, like mine, peanut butter works, but Greenies came out with a "pill pocket". Its an all natural beef flavored treat that looks like a tiny high sided bowl. You slip the pill into the bowl shape and pinch it closed with your other hand (so you dont leave the pill scent on the treat.) They cant smell it, and my dog Zorro gobbles them up like crazy! They're kind of expensive, so I usually wait for them to go on sale at Petco or Petsmart and then buy a couple bags. They ususally have a sale every couple months.

Actually Pill Pockets have been around for years....The Greenies company just bought them out recently.

They do work wonderfully. :D
I don't have a sheep dog I have a maltipoo and we use the shampoo. It seems to help even though we have never used the pills . It doesn't foam up so it's a little weird at first but it does help with his itching especially on his tummy. I'm afraid though it would take a lot of shampoo to bathe a sheep dog because it takes about a half a bottle to bathe my 18lb maltipoo. Hope this helps and I'm going to try the pills thanks to you.... Good luck with Monte. KCH
:D That is wonderful news!
What a break through!!
I wonder if they sell that in New Zealand, I too understand the frustration of watching your poor dog scratching themselves raw...whether fleas are present or not, and, thank you for this little ray of hope!
:wag: :wag:
Skin-eze shampoo works great also! The products arrived and I began the program by mixing up the concentrated shampoo and bathing both itching, scratching doggies. After drying they DID NOT scratch or lick their feet at all!! The hot spots have healed and they are SO MUCH more comfortable. Skin-eze is a bit labor-intensive with the am and pm tablets, baths and spraying, but well worth it in results.
