Barney is sick with vomiting :(

Oh no  Poor Barney.
I hope he recovers quickly. I did the stupid thing when Pepsi got sick last time and feed him some rice that night. I should have waited until I got advice from the forum....but by then he was already eating it. Oops! It came back up almost immediately. I would wait until tomorrow to give him anything. Unless you want more of a mess. |
| Hopefully it is just a little irritation and he is fine tomorrow. I prescribe lots of cuddles, plenty of kisses and at least 5 good belly rubs.

Maybe I'd skip the kisses until the problem resolves but hugs won't hurt! I do hope he feels better soon. I hate sick puppies. It bums me out. Is he throwing up water too or is it just food? |

Sorry to hear he's not feeling well, Steph. I wouldn't give him any food tonight. Just let his tummy settle a little before trying food again. |

No food or water for 12 hours, then boiled rice and perhaps some boiled hamburger was the advice I was given. |

Well, since Barney has never really been sick, I figured he wasn't really sick this time, and since I happened to have some leftover rice and chicken broth in the fridge, I decided to give him some this morning. That's when I came home at lunch and found some more...so from now on...NO FOOD FOR YOU! It hasn't been water, though, but I guess I should take that up too. Poor guy...I wonder if it was because we've gotten to the bottom of a large bag of food and maybe the last kibbles had gone bad? We were going to go to Costco on Monday to get more but it was closed... |

| Well, no puke so far this morning, so I fed him breakfast, which he was VERY happy to get (my boy doesn't like missing meals!)
So we'll see how that meal sits with him. If it makes a reappearance, we'll be going to the vet... |

| I meant to post an update earlier...
Barney is fine. It was just that day that things weren't right. I didn't give him dinner and then started over the next day and all was new! Barney says thank you for all the well wishes. He also wants everyone to know they he was very brave with the first tick removal of the season this weekend Actually, it was very funny...We found a tick on Barney and as we were removing it in the kitchen someone came to the door. So I went to the door to talk to them (Orkin man) and my husband is removing the tick still in the kitchen, and then my cat starts dry heaving on the stairs by the front door. The poor visitor probably thought we were gross! |
