Anyways... When my husband let Barney out after dinner, Barney peed on the back porch (which he never does--well, not never, but hasn't since he was young). Then, I just went to let him out for last call and he went out to the edge of the porch and just stood there and then turned around to come back in. But then I noticed that he had dribbled all over the outside doormat. I then went out with him and he went out and peed in the right spot normally. He is eating fine and seeming normal in everything. Anyone have any ideas? |

I'd have him checked for a bladder infection. |
Do his parts look ok? |
It's so hot too. They do goofy stuff when it's really warm. Maybe he was just trying to be lazy and then you ruined it by making him go to his spot. |
I noticed that if either I or my husband doesn't go outside with the boys they will pee on my pot plants on the deck and not venture into the yard. I always thought it was more of a security thing - like they were scared we might lock them out of the house or not let them back in. JMO |
Peanut will pee on the patio ocassionally. I don't know if the patio is too hot for his feet that he doesn't want to walk out to the yard.
I would have Barney checked out. |
Luke did that one time, turns out he had a bladder infection. He got some medication and was fine. The boys tend to pee on the deck when it's really hot so they can get inside and lay on the ac vents. |
Also check the opening.........may be time for a wash and trim. |
Thanks for all the suggestions. I checked his parts and it seems fine...nothing out of the ordinary looking there. And he was just trimmed, so I don't think it's that.
It was really hot here this weekend, but he was inside for a lot of it to be near the AC...I'll keep an eye on him and see if he does this again... |
