How much Glucosamine and Chondroitin per day?
Also wondering if we should switch him to the regular adult Nutro and just give im the daily supplements for a guaranteed daily dose? Anyone have thoughts on this matter? Thanks John |

| How big is your baby?
Our 3 are on glucosamine daily for various reasons. We started out at a high dose for a month, then cut back to a maintenance dose. For 60 to 100 lbs, give 900 mg, twice a day, for 4 to 6 weeks. Then cut back to 900mg a day. We use Osteo-3, from the vet. It has some other supplements in it too. I could probably buy something cheaper that works, but the dogs love it. They consider it their morning cookie and demand it after breakfast. (They all sit by the counter where we keep the bottle of pills, looking at the bottle until we give them their "cookie"). It makes a huge difference in the way they play. I can tell when my husband forgot to give it to them. |
| He is 70-75lbs. We purchased the "human version", our vet said it is fine to give to dogs as the dog version is basically the same with a higher cost.
i have 1500mg tablets, i guess i can just cut it in half and give it to him once daily? or should i cut it in 1/4's? |
| Cut it in half, then give it twice a day for the 4-6 weeks. It is easier on their system and absorbed better.
Then give 1/2 tab daily. |
