Dog Park at White Oaks Park-Wood Dale Illinois?

Has anyone been to this park? Is it fenced in? Is there a permit required?

I never knew there was a dog park there...but I work just down the street. I will check it out at lunch and let you know.

The park is fenced in.
There are a few agility toys.
No permit required and no fee.
The usualy rules...leashed until in park, pick up after dog, no more than 2 dogs per human...etc.

Wow Amanda, thank you so much! A friend of mine has a Jack Russel/Pug and we're planning a doggie date on June 4th around noon. If you're free you should stop by!
I would love to stop by, but I have family in town that day.

I also forgot the other rule was must be up to date on vaccines and have their collar with vaccination tags.

Cabin Nature Center, White Oaks Nature Trail and Dog Park
The Cabin Nature Center is located at 111 S. Wood Dale Road on the corner of Wood Dale Road and Montrose Avenue.

The White Oaks Nature Trail is available for you to enjoy the natural surroundings as you walk, jog or bike on the interpretive loop trail. You can experience the flora and fauna of two ecosystems. Open daily from dawn to dusk.

Our Cabin campground area (outside only) is available for rent. The fee includes use of the campfire and/or campgrounds. Please call the Recreation Complex at 630-595-9333 for pricing and availablility.

Please be sure to stop by the Dog Park. This park is open daily from dawn to dusk and allows interactive play while off-leash. Look for these special annual events: March 28, 2010 Doggie Egg Hunt and October 3rd, 2009 was the Pet Lovers Showcase. FREE events and lots of fun for diggies and their people!
Just a warning to all owners bringing their dogs to this park...every time we go to this park dogs are being bit and having to be taken to the vet to get stitches/staples to repair the damages. My dog was bit @ a month ago ($250.00) , yesterday 2 dogs were bit, one costing $375.00 to repair. The owner of the dog that bit my dog refuses responsibility. These are not the only incidents there. We were warned upon our first visit that one dog in particular is a menace. Any suggestions on how this situation can be monitored? We are fearful of returning which is a shame because my dog enjoys himself with the behaved dogs.
Any time you take your dog to a public dog park, you run the risk of coming in contact with dogs that are not so nice. Like people, not all dogs will get along. I don't go to dog parks for that reason but many people go and enjoy it. Just always watch your dog and the others and if there is any sign of trouble, leave.

Sorry your dog got bit. Hope he's feeling better.
