Doing Good Things Make You Feel Good.
This past weekend was Victoria Day.. the first official long weekend of the summer here in Canada. We had no plans to do anything except stay at home and plant (I always wait to after the long weekend in May to plant my gardens).. anyways, my girlfriend had to go home to Newfoundland for her mothers wedding... so we babysat her dog for her.. her dog's name is Lily and her and my Murphy love, love love each other.. it was non-stop playing all weekend... Dudley, as usual sat back and watched. When Colleen (my girlfriend returned on Monday) she had made the decision over the weekend to go to the SPCA and get another dog, a playmate for her Lily... I return to work today and there is an email from the Springer Rescue Society asking me if I knew anyone who would be interested in foster/adopting a 4 month pup, whose mother was seized back in December (most of you know the story of Dixie, Sasha, my Murphy and Sandy's Fin). Apparently, this family in NB adopted one of the puppies and was told straight up that they were mixed.. they took the puppy with full knowledge of where it came from, but just yesterday decided that they wanted a Pure Springer.. not a mix..and if a home couldn't be found for him right away he was going to the SPCA....they have busy lives, three kids, puppy was getting to big, etc. etc.... Now the rescue co-ordinator is in a pickle.. they want the puppy gone today.... soooooooooo I call my gilfriend and ask her if she would be interested in fostering/adopting the puppy and she was like YES.. so then we had to get the puppy from Saint John, NB to Nova Scotia, so I contact my girlfriend in Sussex NB and ask her if she would be willing to drive the puppy to Moncton, she said yes... the Springer Rescue pick-up the puppy in Moncton and delivered him to me to take to Colleen. Well... he is just the CUTEST thing ever..OMG.. you could just kiss his face off.. Colleen's Lily loves him, It was instant love for Colleen as well... she has been calling me ever 10 mintues and giving me a blow-by-blow description of what the two of them are doing.... Fate works in mysterious ways. Colleen decided it was time for another dog... The puppy needed a new home...Another happy ending for everyone ... best birthday present I could of every gotten...the best part is... I can enjoy him nightly on our walks, but he goes home to a different house, heheh. I will take pictures soon and post them. |
