It got terrible reviews from most of the critics. We were afraid to watch it because with so much hype and our expectations... how could they ruin a potentially good film!!!?!?! We liked it. Husband read the book and still had good things to say about the movie. Felt they could have been more detailed about some things because people who didn't read the book may not understand as well... but that was really his only complaint. It took some time for it to sink in for both of us though. Meaning, it wasn't until a few hours after the movie that we both said, yeah i liked it. I'm ordering Angels & Demons for our trip on Memorial Day. I think Mr. J just said it was the book before Divinci Code. ...not sure, just buying b/c he suggested it. We never take a road trip unless we have an audio book to listen to. |

I ant to see the movie sooo bad!
Angels & Demons is the first book yes, and it is much better for people to actually read them in order. I thought Angels & Demons was better than DaVinci Code anyway. Dan Brown's other books, Digital Fortress and Deception Point are amazing too |
I would like to see it, but since we don't have a babysitter we will wait until it's out on DVD. My sister saw it and said it was great. |
I imagine in a few months, lil J will get to the point that we can't bring him anywhere.
We sat in the seat closest to the door, but he was an angel the entire time. /knocks on wood |
My daughter went to see it last night, she also read the book first, she said it was good but then I told her not to tell me anymore. She said "Why? You've already read the book?"
She has a point, but I realized I just didn't want her impression, good or bad, to color my own impression of the movie. I hate when movies are done badly after a book has been fantastic. |
Me too. I look forward to the Angels&Demons, but agree it would have been better to know about it before I saw DC. |
I had read the book and loved it. I actually have read all his books, so my husband and I went and saw it yesterday. I really think if I hadn't read the book I would have been more into the movie, but since I already knew the ending.....
All in all though we both liked it. They actually had about 15 people with signs picketing the theater where we went to see it. |
They were probably the same bunch who didn't want their kids to watch Harry Potter |
I saw it. It was kind of cool to see a movie of it because I loved the book. It followed the book really closely so if you read the book, you know exactly what'll happen in the movie. I got up at one point and went to the bathroom and when I came back, I knew exactly what I had missed-- James even confirmed it. Ian McKellan was awesome as Teabing and Silas was great too. Hanks and Neveu had no chemistry but it didn't kill the movie since the story is good.
It's been so long since I read it though, I kept waiting for things to happen that were actually in Angels and Demons. They kind of blurred together in my mind and became one story. I did hear that Tom Hank's hair may be up for an Oscar this year... |

I read Angls and Demons first and LOVED it, I also loved the Divinci Code. I'm not sure if I'll go the the movie or not, I am usually dissappointed when I see a movie after reading a book. |
