Also, right now she is eating about 1 cup of food, 3 times a day. Sound about right? She sure is pooping alot! And I even changed her food to Nutro, which they claim less poop! I bet I pick up at least 5 piles a day! |
|
Panda is 56lbs at 2 1/2 yrs old and eat Nutro.... 3 large poops a day |
At 9 years old, Annie is about 80 pounds.
1 cup of food 3 times a day for an 11 wk old sounds like a lot to me. We just increased Fozzie again to 1 cup/3 times a day and he's 14 weeks old. He poops about 1-2 times a day. |
Ava eats Eukanuba and poos 2-3 times a day - she just turned 1 and she seems a little small for a sheepie - she's only 59 lbs |
Dixie is 50 pounds at 2 or 3 years old. Eats 3 cups of prescription Royal Canin twice a day. (Yes, she's a pig!)
Poops once or twice a day. |
Just weighed them out of curiosity... Dancer is my tiny girl at only 45 lbs. (2 and a half years old)
Sky (almost 2 years old) I thought was bigger than she is, but she is only 51 lbs and Panda is now up to 55 lbs at 9 months old. |
Awwww, you guys are making me jealous with your little girls! (We have the boy "horse" runnin'/ plowin' through the house) It would be nice to have a girl.......hummm....... ............maybe, just maybe I can convince the hubby (Ben's mom & dad just had a new litter!!!!) |
Well I really like the sizes of your girls!!! Hope mine stays under the 65pds! She was the smallest in the liter, most of the boys were almost twice her size!
I am following the bag, for how much to feed her. Someone mentioned they may put more then you need to feed, so they sell more?? She cobbles it down, so I assume she needs it for growing. Just wish her piles were only a few a day |
My parents' sheepie is almost 9 and she is around 75...She's been over 80 before...
Stacey--I see how you can fit all those sheepies in your house--you have miniature ones! Two of them together are almost the same as Barney! |

I know I want a great big boy oes SO badly... they are just so much more impressive to me, more like what an oes should be, at least in my mind, though all my girls are within the standard for height etc... I just can't seem to find one! LOL One of these days.... after Panda finishes her championship the search begins for my big boy! |

If she's anything like my two, she'll eat it ALL! Annie has eaten an entire loaf of bread before and then wanted her dinner. Yes, I do think think the dog food manufacturers put a larger quanitity on the bag than you should feed them. Please check with the vet to make sure. I didn't know this myself until the vet mentioned it when I said Annie was falling asleep quickly after eating and her tummy was really bloated and hard! We reduced the amount of food and the problems went away. She eats Nutro Senior. |
My Rosie has just turned 8 and was 36.5kgs a few weeks ago when she visited the vets. I think this equates to approx 80lbs. She is a big girl but is certainly not overweight. We feed her on Beta Senior dry complete food.
Her great nephew 'Baby Max' is now 11 months old and is bigger than Rosie so I am dreading to see what his weight is when he has his visit in a couple of months for his booster. |
Hmmmm maybe next Sheepie should be a girl. Lucky is 98 lbs & Sam is 67 lbs shaved. |

My puppy is 3 1/2 months old and she is almost 40lbs. I just found out her dad is 96 lbs and her ma is 69 lbs. She could be a big one! |
1 cup three times a day was what we fed our boy from the get-go (Pro Plan). Increased as time went on and pretty much consistently at 3+ cups 2 times a day now (2 years old). Rockin' out at a solid and momentum gathering 85 lbs (though I think he could put on a couple more pounds). |
Space girl! Youa re kiddin gme???!!!! He is going to be at least 90 at that rate! And she is a girl!!!! Oh my, I hope Allie stays small.....
El Gato, that is a very big boy!!! |
Daisy, age 7.5, is 100 lbs+ |

That sounds like a conservative guesstimate from what I've heard... |
Chumley, age 9, has slimmed down to a reasonable 70-75 pounds from 90 when I adopted her. I have to be careful because she'll happily gain it back. She gets 2 cups of nutro senior per day, mixed with stingbeans and yogurt.
Maggie, 1 and a half, is a tall, skinny 60 pounds at 4 cups per day of nutro for high energy dogs. People are always commenting that I am not feeding her enough but she has some pretty rad muscles due to her very active playstyle. . . They also both get an assortment of small treats too (mother hubbard puppy bones, sams yams, etc.) |

Hey, shouldn't you be in the basement bailing or something I can't say much since Clyde's new nickname is "Sausage." He needs to grow his hair back to hide his girth. |
Maggie at 2½ is 86# & 26" at the whithers; Barney at 1½ is 97# and 30". I feed them 2 cups, twice a day of ProPlan and get a nice firm stool easy to pick up; more goes in than comes out. |
4 sheepie-girls...
Emma 2 1/2 years at about 62 pounds Darby 2 1/2 years at about 63 pounds Panda 1 1/2 years at about 62 pounds Kaytee 1 1/2 years at about 45 pounds (Kayt's my littlest sheepie with a partial cleft palate) My big girls get about 2 1/2 cups per day of ProPlan Extra Care Salmon. |

LOL, Thats what we call Pepsi too. Rags (Female) is @ 70 lbs. She has a Vet appt Thursday so I will know exactly how much then. She is also tall. 26 inches at the withers. |
Wow, I didn't realize there were so many small girls out there. That's good to know. Callie, at almost 2 yrs old and 72lbs, is the smallest one I've seen lately. Her sister, who lives with my mom, is 85lbs.
When she was a baby, my husband kept wanting her to grow faster and get bigger. Now he keeps telling her to stop growing!! I think she's about done, only gained 2 lbs in the last several months. She eats about 1-2 cups of food, twice a day. Another question (sorry if this is discussed somewhere else, feel free to direct me there): How long did you all feed puppy food? We tried to switch her to adult food a few months ago. But she kept throwing up, so we went back to puppy. I have heard you can give them puppy food up to two years. That's convenient since there is a new puppy in the house so they can share food. But we're going to have to switch soon, I guess. |
We switched Barney to adult food at about 9 months old (he is 20ish months now).
The best way to transition to adult food is to just mix small amounts in with the puppy food and gradually add more adult food, less puppy food, until you have all adult food. |
We transitioned to adult food around 6 months or so. We were actually really careful about transition since our boy has a sensitive stomach, so we were gradually weaning hin off the puppy food for almost two weeks. |
I still feed all my dogs puppy food. Panda is the only one who is still a puppy but it doesn't hurt the other two any. My dogs are free fed though, so they only eat when they're hungry and only til their full so no weight issues. |
Daisy is 15 mos. old and weighs about 53 #, about 24" tall though I haven't measured lately. Everyone keeps asking if she's a sheepie because she's so small (and has a tail).
She is now eating about 1-2 c of dry food a day plus either 1 can of wet food or the equivalent of what I cook for her. It's had to say how much dry because it is out all the time and she has whatever she wants of it, but lately I have had to add to it more regularly. Although I expected her to be bigger myself (especially not knowing her history as I go her from a shelter), I'm now hoping she doesn't get a lot bigger. I like this size. |
Of all the sheepie girls we've had, none have been over 80 unless they were porkers. Average has been 68-75. My only girl right now is like Darcy's girl, 56 full of energy and attitude pounds. Jack on the other hand is 115 lbs of silliness.
