I keep my boy's legs short on the inside, and you really can't see it
unless you are looking. With the boys it is usually more of a belly problem than the legs, but the legs do get 'urine dirty' sometimes. You could try just spot washing those areas or doing a quick rinse off with the hose a few times a week. If you could train her not to get those areas dirty - well, that would be a miracle I'm sure! Maybe someone else has a good suggestion... Shellie |
Yeah, good luck with that! Of all my dogs, it's the show dog that pees all over himself. Stupid puppy!
It helps to have a wet towel at the door, use that to get most of the mess off then dry them with another towel. You'll still get some of the staining but it will be a little better. You can also use no rinse shampoo on the areas to help with smell or really messy areas. |
Seems kind of strange that a female would do that though? Has she been to the vet recently? Maybe have the vet check for infection? |
It's the one bonus of clipping Clyde-- no more pee legs! I did what Mandy suggested: wet towel, no rinse shampoo, but it's a losing battle and does require constant upkeep. One thing I thought I'd add about no rinse shampoo, I found that sometimes it's necessary to do a couple of applications to make sure it doesn't stay sticky. Nothing more gross than sticky pee fur! |
Tell them what you call that. |

Lol. Pee clots. |
Ewww! Pee clots |
You can get some corn starch or potato flour, sprinkle it on the pee area on her legs then get a pin brush and brush it out. Do it outside before you let her in. It absorbs the wee and it comes out of the coat and they are all nice and dry then too, no sticky smelly clumped coat.
"Johnsons" has a baby powder made from corn starch. |
Oh Show tipps yes Cooper is bad. I tell him he smells a Victoria Square Urinal yuck !!!!
I like Potato Flour too but mostly I leave it for my Husband to deal with I figure its a man thing Lololol |
I will try the corn starch. I read you can also use it on there mouth area where it stains. Next trip to the groomer I will get her to trim that area a little. Thanks! |
Yep on the beard too, same thing put it on and brush it out, dries the beard and takes the muck out with the corn starch |
