Repeated and continued vomiting is serious. The vets were much more concerned that my dog was vomiting than that he had diarrhea for days.
Hopefully, he just ate something that it irritating and it'll come up. If he continues to vomit I'd think about seeing the vet. |
Vomiting yellow bile usually just means the dog has an empty stomach... maybe try some water for a bit first and then small amounts of food and see how he does. Like Ron said, repeated vomiting is serious, and I'd call the vet in either case just to be sure. |
The vets said for vomiting: "12 hours with nothing to eat or drink then try a little bit of boiled rice and/or boiled chicken." |
Keep a close eye on him for other symptoms, is it possible he got into something he shouldn't have and ingested it? |
Thanks, everyone. We talked to a friend who is the director of the Humane Society we adopted Blue through. He gave us the same advice as we got here (no food, start with water, work back to food: rice and chicken). Blue is fine now. It's possible he licked up some carpet cleaner last night, or ate a bug or something in the backyard. We're just not sure. At any rate, he seems perfectly fine now and his appetite is back. We just fed him, so we'll see how he does. |
Phew. Blue--don't scare your parents like that!
I'm glad he's fine now. |
Yay BLUE! |
Yea, Blue is okay! |
Blue is back to his crazy self today. I'd sat he was back to normal, but he's anything but. LOL
Thanks to everyone for your concern and advice. This board rocks! |
I am sorry to hear Blue was sick.
Happy to hear he's back to normal. It's no fun being sick |
Blue , so glad you are feeling better!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Feeling Blue now Blue is Feeling better |
They are loke hoover and eat anything - but so glad to hear Blue is feeling much better ! |
All of the sheepies we've had have thrown up yellow bile for no apparent reason, periodically. So it could happen again and you might not ever know why. But, it's good to know to be concerned if it is reoccurring or they are throwing up alot or acting sick or lethargic. My theory is always to over react to protect my dog.
Glad Blue is better. |
