I have another big announcement to make! And no, we're not getting another sheepie... In the beginning of 2007 (give or take) Mike and I are gonna be parents!!! I'm pregnant with our first baby!   |

| You know I woke up every morning RUSHING to the computer wondering if you made a post. It's been KILLING me that you haven't made thread. I was DYING for it to be an open CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!

Jo- I wouldn't put the words "decided" and "names" in the same sentence together right now... This is going to be a long, drawn out discussion!!!
Here are some that I really like right now: Laurel Ann Lily Kay Cecille Rose Jeffrey Michael that's really the only boy name I have right now... Not very exciting, but nice. So far the only name out of Mike's mouth has been "Shadowfax" remember the Pippin naming discussion? Yeah.. Shadowfax- that man loves to drive me crazy! I countered with Bar-Bar-A... not Barbara, mind you... Bar-Bar-A which is the name of a livestock waterer He hasn't given me any serious suggestions yet. Luckily we have a while still. |

how did I miss this post? CONGRATS (old wives tale maybe? I don't know but is it true that if you are pregnant with a dog in the house that your child will be more than likely to be allergic?) don't wanna start bad thoughts but I was jusy curious |
| actually- British studies have shown that the more routine exposure to potential allergens small children have - the less likely they are to develop childhood allergies. I guess they took a study of children in rural and in urban communities... the children in the rural areas, exposed to all the dusts, danders, and pollens had a smaller percentage of allergies then did the children that were not regularly exposed to those things!
As far as pregnancy, I don't really know- but I'm not gonna worry about it. I think genetics provides a stronger link then anything, and neither Mike or I have pet or plant allergies. |

| CONGRATULATIONS! That is absolutely thrilling news - I'm so excited for both of you! As to allergies, a recent parent magazine (I work at a pre-school) said that if a child under the age of one grows up with 2+ cats or 1 dog, he or she is 50% less likely to have allergies - isn't that interesting?! YAY! |
| Lol...sounds good but here is a weird fact....grew up with 2 dogs...goldens (which shed a lot)...never had a cat...Im highly allergic to cats (always have been), but my twin who did live in the same house lol....is now highly allergic to dogs, cats, rabbits and any other furry animals....even my mom's bichon which is supposed to be the most allergy friendly animal...go figure... |

I think its weird too...example...she came out here and couldnt stay in my house for long...so we ended up driving around a lot...my car was FULL of dog hair....nary a sneeze or gasp....  |
| I wanted to let everyone know that on saturday I suffered a spontaneous miscarriage.
Physically, I'm fine, emtionally, we're both pretty heartbroken. This has been a very emotional week for me- from finding out I was pregnant, finding out a co-worker and close friend of mine has breast cancer, and now loosing the baby. Let's say I've had better weeks, that's for D@#% sure. I very much appreciate all of your good wishes and support. Please keep sending Mike and I both positive baby vibes. We're gonna try it again in a few months, and hopefully everything will work properly next time. Thanks guys... Send me hugs! Karen |

(((((Hugs to you and Mike))))) If you need to talk...PM me. I got pregnant with Hayley two weeks after my 4th miscarriage. It is very common to miscarry on your first try. Don't give up. You will have a beautiful baby when the time is right. |

| Karen: My prayers and support are with you both. Many years ago we experienced the same disappointment, not once, but twice in ectopic pregnancies. Kathy and I had dreams of having our own Boy Scout troop in the family; the Lord instead allowed us to adopt a most wonderful son at 6 weeks. Then several year ago my DIL lost her first. Please accept all our support and keep your spirits up. |
