Oh no! Fozzie! that is not a nice brithday present for Daddy!!!! Try harder next time big guy!
Just when you think you've got everything licked, they prove ya wrong Hang in there Stacy! |
Yes, it is supposed to be a full moon either tonight or tomorrow...
Poor guys! Never fun when you are racing around in the morning trying to get to work. I remember my early days with Barney...I could either get out of the house on time with no problems...or be 25 minutes late if 'someone' decided to pull a Barney... |
I can sooooo relate!! It sure can try your patience!! Sorry Steve had such a rough morning on his birthday. I hope the rest of it goes better!! |
Poor Steve! What a way to start his birthday. Wish him a happy birthday from me anyway! And poor Stacy! What a way to start ANY day!
Keep these puppy horror stories coming! Will help to convince me that I don't want a puppy next time, instead want another rescue!! But the puppy bug isn't done biting me yet, so - keep the stories coming!! |
This morning I overhead Steve tell Fozzie that it's a good thing he is so cute. He also told him that never again will we be getting a puppy and will just be calling Petsmart to find out when they are having a puppy class so we can see the pups. He told Annie that she has paved the way for future mature sheepies to live at our house. We will always have a sheepie no matter what age! I'm so glad that Steve loves Annie as much as he does and vice versa. She really is a Daddy's girl. Remember, he never had dogs growing up and tested positive for dog allergies as a kid. |
Hey Stacey! Where did you get the jingle bells for the door? I want Allie to be trained to ring them. Can not seem to find them, maybe only around Xmas time? |
The bells we have are from many Christmases ago, but it's possible that the craft stores may have them all year round. Joaheyo posted a website a little while ago for something made specifically for pets to ring but I don't recall where the link is. Oh, Leanne... |
Hi All
I posted awhile back for the new parents...hope this link helps! We highly recommend the bells! http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?t=7407 Beebles & Cassie have mastered the Poochie-bells http://poochie-pets.net/index.html Y'all can see a pix of Beebs at 4 months on the FAQ page http://poochie-pets.net/FAQ.html Good Luck Diane |

I bought mine at Michael's. |
Sorry, Diane. For some reason I thought it was Leanne. Thanks for posting again! |
HI
I started out with heavy sleigh bells on a leather strap... I came across the poochie-bells Hmmm ... much cuter, make a pleasant sound & much easier to close the door The most important thing...the sheepers use them Diane |
Thanks everyone. Just ordered the Poochie Bells with a pink ribbon that says, I need to go outside!
Hope she gets the hang of it real soon. She has not been having pee accidents in the house, now poop! She has ran down to the basement 3 times this week, to poop! What is real weird, it is in the morning and all 3 times had gone outside about 1hr before! Does not make sense.... |
Chris- it's called having a puppy! Probably, she knows you don't want her doing it inside, so she runs somewhere that YOU CAN'T SEE HER DOING IT! We've been having the same issue with Pippin for a while now- so I've been keeping him on a leash or long line with me most of the day. He knows I can see him at all times, and he only gets treats for outside potties... so that as helped to cut down on the accidents.
I wish he was potty trained already |
Oh Fozzie...not on Dad's birthday!!!
Stacy...hope the rest of the day goes better...maybe the Fozzie monster will turn into the Fozzie angel Amanda |
Poor Steve, I hope the rest of his B-day is better for him.
Also thanks for reminding me why I don't want a puppy Peanut ate so many of my high heel shoes when he was a pup. Chewed the heels and the backs out of the shoes He was a BAD puppy! He even chewed my cabinets. I am sure the next Sheepie we get will also be a rescue. |
Iris, I only do the teats for outdoor potty also.....It just getting old, when I am always taking her out, and she does go out, but then comes in and goes!!! AHHHHHHHHHH
BUt I guess if she is going to have accidents, the basement is the best place Hey, how often is Pippin sleeping during the day for you? Allie still seems to nap alot. Granted, I am home most of the time, so when she is awake, she gets major attention and play time....Today it has been raining ALL day and she has seemed very calm and sleepy. I am letting her sleep, figure when school is out, she can get some good play time with Shawn. I just dwell on my nighttime sleep, always worry if she gets to much during the day, she will not sleep at night...Like babies! |
I wouldn't worry about it the old adage- "let sleeping dogs lie" is very true. Just let her sleep, her health will be better for it, and make sure she gets a lot of activity in while she's awake, so she sleeps harder for you at night.
Right now- Pips night time sleeping is VERY dependant on what's going on with the family members in the morning. We all have different schedules so he can get up anywhere from 4:30 to 5:30 to 6 or 7. He pretty much feels like he MUST get up with the earliest riser. So If Mike is up at 430 to go to work, he wants to get up and go potty and eat too... Except Mike always leaves himself only enough time to dress and walk out the door, so I'm stuck with the barking whining furball who wants to go downstairs- while I want to sleep!!!! A typical mid week day- he goes to bed with me at 9pm, gets up with Christina at 5:30am for potty and breakfast. On sundays...when no one gets up early, he'll sometimes let me sleep in till 7am (one weekend it was 9:30!!!)... which I hope he does this weekend, because I'm a lot more tired now with the pregnancy! |
Yay Diane!
Gotta love seeing a trained sheepdog advertising things, especially when it's ONE OF OURS! Yay!!! |
Iris!! Congrats! I did not know you were pregnant, did not catch that in an chats since I came aboard! How far along?? Is this the 1st? Boy or girl?? How exciting! I have one boy, who will be 13 next month.....Life is so wonderful with kids! and puppies....... |
*Beebles* bowing
Diane...proud PS Be nice to get some $credit$ for the Forum...hmmmmm |
I just made the announcement in general chit chat- we're 6 weeks along right now
Diane- that is such a cute piccy with the bells!!! |
My neighbor came in today to take care of Fozzie at lunch. I was supposed to go out to lunch with coworkers, but that was cancelled. I decided I need a break since I went through the effort to find a doggie sitter so I went to TJ Maxx and tried on clothes and then browsed the bookstore. I didn't buy anything, but felt much better. I'll give my neighbor a call later to find out how Fozzie was for him. I dont' really want to know at the moment and just want to think of him this way:
|
lol
Good doggie.... |
Stacy, how old is Fozzy again?? I need to post a newer pic of Allie, they look alot alike! |
Has anyone's sheepie ever eaten the poochie bells? They sound perfect, all except that it seems my sheepie would eat them. (not just the bells, but the ribbon too). I would ike to try them, but don't want any bells in Argos' belly!! I can't tell how "strudy" they are from the photo. |
Hmmm...
Good question We have used Poochie-Bells for a year & no problem here! If in doubt ... secure them to your door knob Ours (3 sets) are just looped over the knobs! Maybe you could start out with the big sleigh bells if you have a little thief Diane |

In that picture, I believe Fozzie was 12 wks. He's about 14 weeks now. For anyone who'd like to read about the craziness of this weekend... Well, the weekend was a bust! My Mom called me on Friday (Steve's bday) while I was cleaning up Fozzie's second pee of the morning...she had a terrible flu virus and felt like she wanted to die. So, I felt bad for her all day that she had noone to take care of her. We picked up burgers for Steve's birthday dinner (how exciting), drove to the grocery store and picked up bananas and jello for my Mom. We drove to Mom's condo which is only about 20 minutes away and I went into with one of those masks on so I wouldn't get sick too. Normally I wouldn't care but I've been so cranky lately that I really don't need to get sick! Steve and the pups waited out in the car for me. We went home and went to sleep. So that's how poor Steve spent his birthday. To end the weekend with a big bang...Steve was climbing over one of our doggie gates when he slipped and felt on our hardwood stairs. He caught himself on the bathroom door and feels like he bruised his palm and thumb and told me he has a big BRUISE on his BUTT! This weekend stunk. Can I start over??? |
Sorry that your weekend sucked.
I am sure Steve wouldn't mind having a do over for his B-day. You can plan a special dinner or something. |
On a little bit brighter note, Fozzie was very good at class on Sunday. The instructor forgot it was Mother's Day and only half the class was there. His friend Odin, the husky, was there so they also had a litle bit of extra play time. Foz got an A+ on come and even demonstrated it very well with the instructor as a distraction. We all go out into the aisles at Petsmart and practice our behaviors. He listened even when Colleen (instructor) had all those treats as distractions! He was also a good boy for Steve during his bath. So, I guess Foz isn't always a monter...just some of the time. |
For historical purposes, I forgot to mention that I too slid down the stairs on Sunday. Their favorite stuffed piggie toy was left on the hardwood stairs, I stepped on it, slid, and caught myself, but my hip and lower back have been aching ever since. Today is a better day so far! |
And I love the "Island Stripe" one, it matches everything in the kitchen so well .. ke wither rings them, or the cats ring them and get his attention to the door- it is insane how many times a day the bells ring (cats, dogs, kids), but he is getting the hang of it-- and I am trying my best to respond quick so we do not miss the "sudden urge" |
Yippee
Alissa so glad you got the Poochie-Bells! Remember everytime you go out the door ring the bells...whenever one of the other shaggies hear the tinkle-bells they know someone is going outside & they come a runnin' I posted a pix of the girls (it's a caboose shot-not that great) using the Poochie-Bells but I have forgotten how to get it in this post... Oh well just click the camera Good Luck! Diane & the bell ringers' Beebles & Cassie |
Stacy, I hope you are not hurting too much from your slip.
I had to hold Hayley on and off for 6 hrs on Saturday night. My back and shoulders are a mess! I did manage to get to take a really long nap on Sunday. As for slipping on toys, Well I know all about that too |
