Anybody using a mailorder service to get it done? Is there a local place that groomers go? Can you sharpen them yourself? Thanks! |

I get my done by mail. Send them off and they are back in a few days, including scissors as well.
Found out where to send them from a Hair Dressing Salon as Hairdressers spend a fortune on their equipment too. Usually about once or twice a year I have them professionally sharpened. Clipper Blades are best to be sharpened by a professional. Scissors I use in between a "Swiss Sharpener" to run over the blades. Good little gadget and only cost in Aussie Dollars $15.00, so always really sharp scissors to work with. |
I get mine done at Ryans pet suppy...nationwide catalog company that actually has a warehouse and repair place here! It costs 8 dollars.... |
As a groomer, we know of a few people who sharpen blades that come to the shop and pick them up and return them well sharpened again. The cost is $5.00 a blade. I'm sure if you ask the groomers in your area they will give you the name and number of a reputable blade sharpener in your area. Make sure you have more than one opinion. Some people are better then others. They are sometimes hard to find. I have had trouble with sending them through the mail. Others have had good luck with Ryan,s though. Good luck.
