What kind of dirty are we talking about here?
Is is muddy-dirty, dusty-dirty, stinky? There are wipes you can buy sort of like wet wipes that may help keep it under control. This may not be what you are looking for. There are waterless shampoos of all sorts, some are spray on some are a powder. Mostly we use those for inbetween baths when they are a little smelly. The best thing though would be brushing. I have found that most of the dirt on our dogs will come out with a thorough brushing. If you are brushing to the skin most of the worst will be kept to a minimum between baths. If you are not keeping your dog in a puppy cut you will have to be brushing a few times a week just to keep the mats at bay. (unless you strip the undercoat - which I am doing now and I love love love it) Maybe if you could give a little more detail? What kind of dirty...what is your grooming routine like...Maybe someone else will chime in here. An OES coat will tend to grab and hold dirt more than a border collie's. I have pulled branches out of both my dogs' fur while brushing that I hadn't even noticed before. Shellie |
We tend to keep our dogs in a puppy cut so that much dirst hasn't been a problem... but I wanted to jump in and say "Welcome!" to the forum! |
Welcome to the forum!
If you use a spray with a bit of conditioner in it when you brush it will help repel some of the dirt, the only other suggestion is to keep her out of the dirt.... |
