When told I may have to leave I loaded my truck with all the dogs pictures, merrymacs and anything I could grab with an OES on it Never occurred to me to take anything else Since I could see the smoke and hear the planes I was ready but the wind shifted so I didn't have to leave. |

What a story, I can't beleive they couldn't take their dogs though - how awful. but what a wonderful firefigher - bless him.
Glad to hear you are all ok too |
How heartbreaking. I'm glad the fireman was able to save them! |
I'm glad you're safe, Holly and didn't have to evacuate!!
God bless that firefighter. What a wonderful thing he did. |
What a scary story with a very happy ending! Kudos to the wonderful fireman. |
Glad youre okay....and yes bless those firemen!!! |
OMG, how scary, Holly!! SO glad you and your family are okay.
And what a great thing for that firefighter to do!! He should at least get a commendation for that! |
It ended up never getting that close to me so I was fine. I just heard the firefighter is getting an award, which makes me happy |
Wow - I love that story - I bet the family is soooo relieved. I'm glad the wind changed and that you'lre ok, too!!!!! |
Just curious, Holly, why were they not allowed to take their dogs?
What/Who was stopping them? I've never been in an area that's being evacuated, so I don't know the protocols. |
Because the fire was spreading so quickly the DNR forced people to leave immediately to get them away from the danger. They were not allowed to take anything with them |
How awful. I would be devastated. |
Oh my goodness! Wow, I'm so glad you're ok, and the dogs too! Kudos to that pilot |
