He's being very accepting of having to stay in. Of course, he eats all day, then I come and fuss over him for 2 hours. He gets re-ultrasounded at the end of May. The vet said he MIGHT be able to go in the small pasture at the end of the summer. That's 2-3 more months. I don't even want to think what the vet bill will be for April. All his spring shots, hocks x-rayed, 2 ultrasounds. Good thing I didn't spend my income tax refund. |

Wow....poor Bob...and poor you! That's so difficult when your baby is ill and doesn't understand what's going on. I'm very glad it is something that can heal & repair itself. |
POOR BOB! Having to spend all the nice weather in his stall Bummer! Hope his leg continue to heal well!!! |
Neighbors raise throughbreds across the street. Their stud is confined except for breeding....it was 2 years before he could even breed. I try not to think about him being stuck like that, but understand the complexities of horse anatomy. |
Aw, the poor guy But he has a great mom to take care of him |
Poor Bob He has such a wonderful Mommy to care & love him |
With the wonderful care from mommy and all the hay & oats, he's going to be Bob, the fat blob. Ah, but his coat, mane and tail will be beautiful! I'm assuming he loves grooming. |
Poor Bob and poor mommy! But at least he's on the mend, even though it will seem like an eternity to you that he can go back out in the pasture. Sounds like he's very understanding of the situation, so he must know this is what's best for him. Keep up the great work, Mom! |
Poor Bob! Is his leg going to heal okay? I don't know anything about horse injuries. Is it very serious? |

Never assume! He does not like grooming. He tolerates it for about 10 minutes then gets ants in his pants. He's never liked to be fussed over. And he won't be a blob because his grain has been cut by half. Dogs have deep digital flexor tendons to You can't feel them, but the tendons run down the back of the leg and are responsible for the paws and/or hoofs bending. The injury will heal but the tendon won't be the same. It won't be as elastic as before. But he will get better. Thanks for all the good wishes. A lady at work brought me 6 pounds of carrots to give to Bob. That was so sweet. |
Paula,
I hope Bob has a miraculously short and painfree recovery He needs to get out and enjoy that pasture in the summer. Give him a good neck rub and a big hug from me |
Poor Bob, I hope he heals quickly! |
On Bob! Here's you chance to soak up all the lovin' Mom wants to bestow upon you and you won't let her brush and curry you, braid your mane, etc. Maybe it's Bob the boob! Well, she still loves you and will delight in giving you the carrots instead of the oats.
Friend had an old horse named Bill who would start shaking, lip smach and drool when Mom would bring him jelly beans. Maybe you could whisper in her ear. sheepieboss |
