I think Merlin knows what I'm saying....
So awhile ago Nick (fiance) and I were in the kitchen talking with Merlin just sort of standing there acting like he knew what was going on and I mentioned to Nick that I wanted him and his friends to starting putting their skateboards somewhere else because they were leaving marks on the wall. and no sooner did I say that did Merlin walk over, sit on the steps and look at the wall with the skateboards leaning up agaisnst it and then looked back at us as if to say, " yep, there sure are marks there, mom." it was so funny. Nick was even surprised too. He rarely gets as excited as I do when it comes to doggie antics. It was great. |

| I have to say this is very funny! I was reading the post before, and trying to think of things that Walter does or has done like this...then, wouldn't you know it, this afternoon, my mom was over and asked if I had gotten the mail. Before I could even respond or notice, Walter had gone to the door where the mailbox is, and sat and waited...as if to say "I'd go get it for you, but can't open the door by myself (let alone reach the mailbox)!"

| Of course they learn words. Cookies, beans, mail, pee-time, outside, ride, bedtime, Dad's home are just a few the kids know here. Skateboard is very distinctive sounding.....but as far as looking at the wall, that was remarkable. |
